Five Star Pizza — Restaurant in Belleview

First I want to say that I love the food here. Since finding this place I had not gone anywhere else for pizza even though there are much cheaper options out there.

My wife gets her nails done Nextdoor to 5 Star so I usually order a pizza for pickup when it’s time for the nail appointment. I called in like I always do and ordered a large pepperoni but this time I was quoted $18.7x for the pizza. I said to the girl, wow the prices jumped up, it was $14 just a few weeks ago and her reply was, no the prices are the same you must be mistaken. Okay, no big deal I didn’t have to eat a pizza so I cancelled the order because almost $20 for a pizza was not something I had to have at the time. I drive up to pick up my wife which is next door and notice the sign on the front of the window “Large 1 Topping pizza $14.99”. Well now I’m curious so I check my discover statement and lo and behold it was $16.04 just two weeks earlier which is $14.99 plus tax. I go inside and asked why I was quoted over $18 for the pizza and was told, they must have rang you in for the walk in price by mistake but I can go ahead and get it for your for that price if you still want the pizza? At this point, no I don’t still want the pizza. I get why online from delivery hubs that the price is more because they pick the food up and deliver it to you third party. I get when restaurants add a delivery fee for food sent to locations to cover insurance and liability coverage. I don’t however get why any customer picking up their order from the restaurant would have to pay phone in up charge for anything they plan on picking up themselves. I have worked for a family restaurant chain for 28 years, I now run 9 restaurants on the west side of Florida so I understand the need to raise prices to stay in business. Please explain how charging any customer $2 more for phoning in an order can ever be justified? Long and not so short, I will miss the food. I haven’t read the other reviews but this place should have 5 stars. When I called they had my last order on file so that was fantastic since we were trying to remember what we had the last time that was so good. Now this is our 2nd time ordering. They are so polite and very nice on the phone. I got what I did last time which was a chicken bacon ranch but I substituted a few items. I’m a picky eater and nobody gets my food right. When it got here the driver was very sweet and he let me check my pizza to make sure it was right. This pizza was AMAZING! Just look at the picture! It’s nice that this place actually puts toppings on their pizza. I was so impressed I called back to let them know. The whole time I was speaking to the manager Jeremy and I let him know how much we appreciate a business that tries hard! We will definitely continue to be customers! OK so this is my first time ordering from five star pizza I was really hoping for old-fashioned garlic rolls which for some reason I cannot find anywhere in the villages but I ordered wings with barbecue, a cheese, pizza, garlic rolls, and cinnamon rolls. I honestly could not believe how good the pizza looked and yet how bland it tasted I can honestly say that little Caesars pizza taste better as well as the wings I open the box and the sauce is not even fully on the wings, but drizzled on it and when I bit into one wing, they were not even crispy and no seasoning or flavor as well. The garlic rolls which I was really looking forward to are just butter rolls with some strange garlic oil on it and the cinnamon rolls are the same type of butter rolls and they give you a bag of frosting on the side, not even on the rolls. I just am very disappointed that I spent $60 for this meal. I really hope that the owner reads this review and thinks about using better ingredients to make the food tastier because wow I am surprised that there are very little bad reviews...
