I went to the pharmacy to get my rabies vaccine boosted today. The pharmacy technician processed my form, which I felt was taking awhile, since this is my second shot and while I'm sitting there waiting, I hear the staff talking to the pharmacy technician, laughing and saying "why are you scared to give the rabies vaccine? Just give it like any other vaccine!" They were joking around and the experience really made me very uncomfortable, as I was only sitting a few feet away. Working at a veterinary hospital, I know how support staff should be respectful and aware of patients, and these employees were very careless and inconsiderate. Not only were they really loud about the pharmacy technician not having any confidence, they were also discussing how he's been there for 2 years, and if as if he doesn't know what he's doing (while he was in the room preparing), moments before I went in to get my vaccine! Reluctantly, he called me into the room and administered my shot. If I had not already ordered the vaccine I would NOT have got it here. Went inside with one to ask if they can take them and they said ok. Even called before I got there to ask if they can take drop off. However, more than once they not only have his medication out of stock (something he gets monthly), they do not even have the courtesy to call me to notify me they are out of the medication (also not the first time).
