I really wanted to like this place, but it’s just a no. I drove 30+ mins each way to go to them because I had a few recommendations including my family members. I wanted to reband my engagement ring, I spent almost an hour in the shop dropping off my ring explaining with the jeweler exactly what I wanted done and she even said she would send pictures during the process to make sure it’s what I want especially before I drive down there to get it. It seemed we were on the same page. I was told it’ll be 4 weeks. I called on the “pickup date” and they decided to push it another 5 days, mind you, had I not called to check before driving an hour plus to get it, I would’ve wasted my time because they decided not to call me and let me know. Then on the new “pickup day”, nobody calls me to let me know, so I give it another few days and then decided to call them and they said it’s been ready. So rude to not let me know, why am I having to call them every time to get updated. Then I asked for pictures again before i drive down there and the bezel setting around my ring was not fixed which is something I asked for multiple times and explained in detail with pictures and so I had to wait again for that. 6 weeks later, I pick it up. The band on my ring is scuffed and scratched. Thankfully I noticed in the parking lot before driving off, went back in and had to wait for them to fix it. Unfortunately noticed they didn’t even clean my stones in the ring because there’s black stuff caked on them which is so disgusting. I’m so disappointed in this place. I’m hoping my ring even holds up and stays in decent...
Read moreHas Gone Way Downhill Under New Management There was a time when I wouldn’t have recommended any area jewelry store other than Erwins but not anymore.
My wife and I wanted to get our wedding rings cleaned for our anniversary. We took them to Erwins who told us it would take 2 days. That seemed long but ok. Sure. Was told the rings would be ready for pick up at noon. We show up at noon and it’s obvious they had forgotten to clean the rings. Instead of just being honest about it, they try to clean them quickly while we’re in the show room. We get them back and the rings leave black smudges on our fingers. We point this out to them and the worker says she “forgot to wipe them off.” Ok. We get them back after a few mins and they are hardly any better. At $20 a ring, it would be nice for them to actually get cleaned. I could have done a better job at home with a toothbrush and dish soap and it wouldn’t take 2 days.
Mr Kumor was a great guy and fantastic at jewelry repairs. He was always honest and upfront. I never bought anything from his show room but I had taken multiple rings and and watches to him and his work never disappointed. The new owners/managers have a lot to learn about running a good store. None of the workers seem very knowledgeable. One kept asking if the rings needed to be rhodium dipped, despite us telling her multiple times they were platinum. Service is slow. Another couple in there waited about 30 mins just to get a new watch battery. I had dropped off a ring for cleaning there a few years ago and it was ready to pick up the very next morning.
My wife and I will...
Read moreI will never, and I mean NEVER, forget how bad my experience was with this shop, or how they messed up the "repair" to my silver coffee pot, or how they handled it. They gave me my money back after me receiving receiving coffee pot back, only to point out gouges, spilled adhesive (like, I could have glued the lid back on...there's a reason you take it to a jeweler), crooked and off set lid. We went thru this 4 times on the last day that I picked my pot up before the lady finally just gave me my money back and I left quickly not wanting to make a scene...but I was mad that they mishandled my coffee pot so badly. Also, I dropped my pot off on the 9th of July and was told about 2 weeks for the repair...I wasn't able to pick my pot up until the 30th of August, which was the first time I pointed out the bad repair. They apologized and said they would fix it and I could pick it up the next day. But the next day, I noticed just how bad the repair was amd how my lid was off center and there was still left over adhesive amd the woman seemed shocked when she asked me if I actually use my pot and I said yes! I think they did a crap job hoping I wouldn't notice. I wish I could figure out how to post pictures on here to show off what they call a repair. My advice is to stay away from this shop. They lack integrity as...
