Final edit: Emily was kind enough to throw in a free mat and free installation given the troubles with delivery. The delivery + installation folks were very communicative, kind, and easy to work with. Emily was also able to update my warranty start date to match the delivery date and was very proactive about checking in.
I've updated my star rating to 4 out of 5 given what they've done to right a wrong. It sounds like Johnson Fitness had a few changes recently (change in ownership and financing partner), and it's likely the issues I've experienced were in large part due to the transitions. Given this, I would purchase from Johnson Fitness again. The initial experience for purchasing was great, but since then I've been left with promised call-backs, an early due first payment on financing (due tomorrow though treadmill has not arrived), a 5 year Johson & Fitness warranty whose starting effective date matches the date that I purchased the treadmill, and still no clue when the treadmill will arrive.
Emily was helpful to determine the root cause of why my payment is due before my treadmill has arrived (somehow my treadmill was marked "delivered"). Unfortunately my issue is still outstanding -- I'm left with a bill and an already started time-lapsed warranty for a treadmill that does not yet exist in my home.
Edit to add: Emily has been proactively reaching out with updates on my delivery and has promised to revise the warranty start date once I get the treadmill. It'll likely take at least another two weeks but I wanted to update this review because they are definitely doing their best to make it right. Will update again once the treadmill arrives with...

My wife called with a question about rowing machines because I had decided to purchase a specific rower for our home, and she likes to 'trust but verify' the things I say.
When she called, the gentleman on the phone was fantastic. My wife couldn't remember the exact name of the brand of rowing machine I wanted to purchase, but the person she was speaking with knew which machine it was based on her description.
The store rep did not try to sell her on anything, didn't try to get her to come in to look at what they had in the store, just said that he knows the brand, knows the quality of it, and gave some honest and solid feedback about it. They don't even carry this brand in their store, but he was still helpful!
It is genuine and kind customer service like this that is far too rare in this day and age. Businesses and individuals have become too focused on selling and closing and forget the value of treating people like they are people, not numbers.
Because of this very simple, but honest, supportive, and helpful interaction, I am now set on visiting their store front and most likely purchasing some work out equipment I've been meaning to purchase.

Read moreThe Bellevue salesperson was eager to sell the product on a Monday. Indicated I'd be contacted in 2-3 days for delivery and setup. I had heard nothing by Thursday and called. He indicated he would immediately follow up. I'd heard nothing by Saturday and again he said he would contact the deliver service (who he blamed for the poor service) and contact me Monday AM. He did not but a contact person called from the national delivery service and a time was scheduled for Tuesday. The delivery service was late and outside the promised window of delivery/setup. I'd paid for a mat for the recumbent bike to avoid damage to the floor. None was on the delivery truck; everyone was blaming someone else for the problem. I called and told the sales person about the missing mat and that I was not interested in repeating this poor attempt at customer service. I requested a refund on my debit card. I have yet to see the credit. Poorly done and a classic example of finger-pointing rather than stand-up owning a terrible job. Would not recommend this...
