We went to Seattle for our daughter to visit UDUB, we used Expedia and found this hotel close to her friends home. It’s not too far from the SEA airport and close to all the shops for foods and Safeway supermarket. It’s only 75 miles from Mt. Rainier National Park and 17 miles to the city. We had some trouble finding the place since it’s hidden inside from the road and Apple IOS map keep sending us to the college down the road. The hotel is quite new IMO, the outside looks quite nice and there are plenty of parking spots, we park right outside our windows every day. We’re amazed of how clean and nice this hotel was when we got there. The people were extremely pleasant and we got our room without any delay at a little after 3PM. We got 2 double beds for 4 of us, the room was spacious, the big TV worked perfectly. We hooked up the firestick and it worked right away as soon as we connected to the free internet, the speed is just barely enough to stream movies without being disconnected. If we wanted faster internet, it would cost $8/day, but we didn’t need it. The small refrigerator is cold, the bathroom is clean, we got the hair dryer and ice bucket extra because the front desk assumed there’re none in the room. There are many convenient outlets for our electronic devices which many hotels don’t have and our kids love them. The beds are firm but not hard, we slept well every night thanks to the only place that have windows covered completely from the outside light. The hotel is far from the road, hence it’s so quiet. We seldom used the elevator (slow) because we could go in/out to the car on the second level exit door which is a +. Yes, it did have breakfast but no scrambled eggs, good coffee, juice, fruits, cereals, muffins, bagels and toaster. My kids always woke up after 9-10AM which missed the time every day LOL. I had some muffins and coffee a few morning. We used all our towels for 5 days while we’re there. We didn’t have to ask for room service. There were plenty of towels for 4 of us. I’m sure we could ask for new towels if we wanted, but we didn’t need to. We always needed ice and the ice machine gave us all we needed every time and it’s on every floor, although our room was a little far from it. At 100F outside and the AC in the room worked so well keeping us cool. This is the first reasonably priced hotel that we had nothing to complain about. Everything works and great nights sleeps, what can any traveler...
Read moreThe hotel don't fulfill the promise of cleaning your room at your scheduled time, with no advanced notification of reschedule, and think they do nothing wrong using conflicting explanation. The only way to get the clean service during a two-week stay, is to never hang the "do not disturb (DND)" tag, and be prepared that people could enter your room anytime during the day during this COVID season.
On June 11, 2022, the front desk helped me sign up a tidy up service (making bed, changing towel, cleaning dustbin) at 10am June 12. I requested a full service clean which I missed on the 8th day of stay because of the DND hanging. The front desk said he's not 100% sure he could make it, but would check with the manager and contact me if they cannot make it. The front desk said it cannot be in the afternoon so we confirmed 10am. I received no notification afterward saying they cannot make it, so I left the room at 9:50am and removed the DND. When I came back at 11:40am, nobody cleaned the room so I checked with the front desk again. The cleaning manager gave me the following explanation: In the system, my room was scheduled for a tidy up at 10am rather than a full service. When I asked why even no tidy up happened, the manager said the tidy up would come at a random time in the day. (I don't think this excuse is reasonable that the hotel asks people to schedule at an exact time (10am) but do it randomly in the day.) The cleaning manager did receive a full service request for June 12, so the front desk on June 11 was good. (But the cleaning manager did not arrange it and nobody notified me they cannot make it 10am June 12.)
I failed to get a cleaning service. But the front desk on June 11 did a good job on calling people to resolve the blocked bath drain problem. And after realizing I cannot schedule a cleaning service, I successfully got plastic bags from the front desk so I can dispose...
Read moreMy family and I stayed there over the Memorial Day 2012 weekend. We used my points. The person behind the counter required a CC at check-in but didn't explain they swiped it and withheld money on it. They withheld $70.00 for incidentals. Since it was a debt card, it was automatically withheld. That was neither mentioned nor explained at check-in.
When my wife inquired about it with the front desk the next morning, she was shunned and was rudely informed that there was nothing that could be done due to the holiday. Come on now. Really??
She called the following Tuesday after we returned from our trip. She was treated with the same level of rudeness and unapologetic behavior as before. No attempt was every made to rectify a situation that your staff perpetuated.
Do the knuckleheads behind the counter or the management even know what it means when a Marriott Rewards Gold member checks in to burn valuable points at their hotel? Do they even have a clue how much money and time that person has invested with their company to achieve that level?
"Hey, Mr. Fairfield Inn Seattle Bellevue". The next time I want to take my family to Seattle, Redmond, or Bellevue to get away, we won't be staying at your rude, cold-fish, stand-offish, and snobbery hotel. And by the way, I WILL be filling out LOTS of reviews and leaving comments everywhere I can where your hotel is listed...
Bottom line. Your staff lacks proper training when it comes to communication skills and basic human kindness. You were very rude to my wife. Not smart for a "hospitality" business.
One more item. My daughter lives for hotel pools. I dinged you on your facilities ranking also. The pool was extremely COLD and it remained in the same condition...
