West Coast Oriental Grocer — Local services in Bellingham

Bought these two bottles from the store last week. After having it for several times we found that every time we eat it, we would have diarrhea the other day, and when we didn't eat it we were fine. How can you not link the diarrhea to these? So we checked the expiration date and i wasn't sure if i understand it right, but it looks like it expired in 2021. When we go back to the store and ask for an explanation on the expiration date, they can't even explain to us when it is gonna expire. They literally don't care about this at all because they think it doesn't expire even though they can't explain when it's gonna expire and they don't think our diarrhea is caused by their product. Customer service is not a thing here.

Something else i also wanna point out is we never get fresh veggies from this store, you definitely wanna stay away from this...

UPDATE (Aug 2021): The female co-owner of this market is nice. They always try to keep the market well stocked, and they even offer Vietnamese sandwiches and boba drinks now. Most recently, they opened a delicious pho restaurant called "Pho 360". I appreciate that they work hard and keep up with trends, like sell items like boba mochi, milk tea cans, rice crackers, etc.

Although the items are expensive and majority of the items aren't marked with a price, I still save a lot of time by not having to drive all the way south for good Asian items.

Original review in 2019: Just moved to Bellingham, and I am so glad that this Asian market exist. Of course it is not as big as a huge Asian market in Seattle, but it is good enough. For the convenience and not having to drive more than an hour and a half to get Asian products,...

I was disappointed in the inventory In general. Usually when I go to an Asian grocery there are dozens of intriguing items besides what I am after. I didn't feel that way here.

They didn't have any of the specialty products I was after. Admittedly I wanted mostly Japanese & Indian items, and this store seemed to have a more China & vicinity focus.

The store also had a very run-down, and even disused, look. Maybe the clerk was having a bad day too, but they seemed very unhappy.

I would rate two stars, but giving an extra because maybe they work well for other customers. I did notice quite a bit of bulk/restaurant stock. So maybe the place Is good for that. But I...
