Lilia’s Mexican Cuisine : A Must-Try in Bellingham: Today, I visited Lilia’s Mexican Cuisine on Bakerview Road in Bellingham, and the experience was outstanding. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and seated in a spacious, comfortable area. The tables were well-spaced, providing a relaxed and private dining experience.

One of the highlights of the meal was the tableside guacamole service. A server brought over a prep table, fresh avocados, and a variety of garnishes, allowing us to customize our guacamole exactly how we wanted it. Watching it made fresh right in front of us was a great touch, and the flavor was incredible—perfectly balanced with fresh ingredients and just the right amount of spice. It paired perfectly with the warm tortilla chips, and for the first time, we finished an entire serving of guacamole. It was so good that we ordered a second basket of chips just to keep enjoying it.

Other tables in-front and behind us received the same great service, including the guacamole prep table!

Our server, Reymundo, also introduced us to Lilia’s house salsas, which are family recipes, "recipes our family grew up on" said the server. The red salsa had a deep, tasty flavor, while the green salsa had a tangy, vibrant kick. Both added depth to the dishes and showcased the restaurant’s dedication to authentic flavors.

For the main course, we ordered the Quesabirria taco plate, which included three birria tacos, served with rice, beans, and a side of consomé. The presentation was excellent, with generous portions and a variety of fresh garnishes. The birria was tender and flavorful, with the tortillas perfectly crisped. Dipping the tacos into the rich consomé enhanced the flavor even more. The beans and rice were also well-prepared, with the beans having a creamy consistency and the rice being light, fresh, and well-seasoned.

Even though we were full, we decided to try dessert. The flan was smooth and creamy with a caramel drizzle, while the sopapillas were soft and fluffy with a light cinnamon-sugar coating, drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauce and served with ice cream. Both were excellent and the perfect way to end the meal.

Lilia’s offers an authentic and well-executed menu at a great value. The food was fresh, the service was exceptional, and the atmosphere was welcoming. At just $19 per Quesabirria plate, the portions were generous, and the quality was clear in every dish.

This is easily one of the best Mexican restaurants in Bellingham. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu.

This restaurant gave us the WOW factor, the second we walked through the door. First thing I always notice is, is it clean? This place was sparkling. I loved the decor and the colors, so bright and happy vibes. The high ceiling, and wondered, how the heck they got a real antique truck way up above, the kitchen entrance. We were seated promptly and sat in a very comfortable booth. The service was excellent! The chips and salsa excellent. My blended raspberry’s daiquiri was delicious. My husband ordered the Chimichanga with Pork, black beans and rice,I had the lunch special, Carne asada with refried beans, rice and 3 flour tortillas both meals came with the best guacamole it was so nummy and fresh ingredients The prices were great.. The portion size was perfect, We were there around 2:30 pm and from my view point there was about 7 booths full of happy people. Our server and hostess were so sweet and gave outstanding customer service, which in my opinion ,seems hard to find anymore. We were so happy, that we found this place.. We told our server, this place is a gem. Thank you so much. We will be back. This restaurant, in our opinion,is hands down ,the best Mexican restaurant in...

Service wise, it was good but I am 100% sure everyone on here saying that the food is “good or delicious” has never in their lives tried REAL, AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD. Just say you’re cooking white people food disguised as “Mexican” in Texas we call places like this Tex-Mex and even then, they are good but damn, this food was terrible to the point where our kids didn’t even eat, that’s how bad this place is. If the owners are MEXICAN they have completely forgotten their roots and don’t have a clue what good Mexican cuisine is really like. I am half white, raised with white family, and I know what authentic Mexican food is, this is NOT IT!!! First and last time we ever walk into this place, now we have stomach ache and we’re still hungry after getting a plate full of nothing but onions and bell peppers. TERRIBLE...

Havent been here in years and decided to go today for lunch. My husband got the steak fajitas which was really good and I got the Super Torta which i must say, this was the first time ive ever had a Torta on a Ciabatta bun...definitely not the right type of bread for a torta, bread was too chewy and that is the only reason for 4stars. I really hope they just ran out of regular bolillo bread and used what they had on hand. Our server was nice and otherwise the food was good but wont be ordering the Torta again. ** Editing to add: Changed to 3stars - I see another review about the Torta and it mentions Telera bread...the bread used for these Tortas is definitely NOT Telera or Bolillo, its literally a Ciabatta bun - disappointing to see this is the norm. Not authentic at all, I hope the restaurant changes this up. **

Get u some Border Delights! Ok so first off, always guage a Mexican restaurant by the chips and salsa! The chips here are light, airy and crisp. Salsa, well homemade for sure...a little mild for my border town San Diego taste but acceptable. You gotta get the guacamole!! Homemade or table side legit. Now, I ordered the Tacos De Camoronis,... shrimp tacos..dang!!! The 2nd best I've ever had and you know I've eaten a ton. A high recommendation if ur into a ton of shrimp with delicious filings and shell plus light rice and classic beans. Beers, draft, huge and margaritas big and uhhh strong. I rarely go 5 Star but the food and service rate this... Also the place is super clean bright colorful and classic.
