If there is one thing that shines about Cosmic Games it is how apparent their investment in the growing Gaming Community is.
I doubt I would have become as passionate in tabletop gaming, RPGS, and now Warhammer, if it weren't for the Cosmic Games Team. I'm sure the same goes for 'so' many other gamers and hobbyists I have met at their tables.
The team makes sure to have good relationships with other stores, as well as gaming companies; so their stock and availability for different RPGS, miniature games, Cards Games, and obscure anything is vast.
I wandered into tabletop gaming almost a decade ago as a broke college student, and they welcomed me into the big world of tabletop while dispelling all of my concerns and hesitation at the time.
These days, I'm a career man and now my kids love going to Cosmic for D&D Miniatures and card games; while my wife and I go for miniatures and RPGS.
Adam, the owner, is a very knowledgeable guy and is always willing to help you out or point you to an associate who understands your interests and passions.
Adam has a guy for everything. From frisbee golf to magic the gathering and beyond. Just walking into the store you can tell that they try to make sure to have something from everyone, with the many new displays and shelves; as well as the variety of card and rpg tables.
Pete is the guy, he can find you nearly anything, and will power up to talk to you about anything roleplaying game. Even upcoming games, or awesome obscure kickstarters.
Thanks to Pete's knowledge, charisma, and connections roleplaying has really spread in the community. He has also given many people a place to feel comfortable learning new games without feeling as if they are just filling another seat.
If you bump into Brandon, the guy knows cards. I grew up in the Pokemon, Magic, Yu-gi-oh inception era; but I know nothing about those card games. So when Brandon knew every little monster card my kids were looking for to trade their penpals in Japan, as well as the many different prints, I was nothing but relieved.
Cosmic Games is a place everyone can go and feel welcome, safe, and can surely find something that will guide their adventures far into...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had an urge to visit some local card shops since I got back into PokĆ©mon a few months ago! I found this place and when entering I was immediately enamored by the inventory and layout of the store! It had so much stuff from tcg to retro video games it was nerd heaven haha. However as I was with my friend I made a remark regarding the current Pokemon retail/scalping issue and one of the staff members seemingly misunderstood me believing I called them a scalper. Although it wouldnāt take much to realize I was not. Regardless, the staff member then proceeded to give me a very basic yet ego filled description of how the economy works and essentially turned off any intent I had of spending money there. Which was a huge shame as there was so much merchandise I wouldāve loved to bring home that day! Iāve never had to balance and weigh out a decision to go any place before as this store has literally SO MUCH! Itās truly a dream location and I love that itās local! However I really hope I donāt get unlucky enough to visit during whenever that certain employees shift is. The other staff however, were a delight and very friendly! We all have bad days and Iām planning another visit, this time looking for some older DS games! Hopefully if the same employee is present they either have a better day or just donāt bother me with condescending remarks on the economy & state of Pokemon lol.
Also quickly to touch on this topic Iāve been reading other reviews, a lot of negative reviews seem to focus on the pricing. From my experience I did not find anything that was over market by an exorbitant amount. I understand that stores must have their own percentage mark up on inventory so I expect things to be over market to a degree but I will be keeping my eye out upon my next visit!
TLDR 3/5 Stars!
Pros- great inventory & brimming with tcg/nerdy merchandise!
Cons- a certain employee that is very negative & passive aggressive.
Will be updating this review when I make my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOverall I really enjoy this store and the selection they offer. My husband and I both collect Pokemon and our kids love Pokemon as well and this is the only store that has the best selection locally.
However, with that said....customer service is lacking. I have worked in customer service myself and know how to balance/juggle. But often it feels when we go in there we are ignored.
The communication is poor as well. My husband has been trying to have his graded cars looked at to possibly sell and they said the owner need to see them, which is totally fine! But yesterday my husband called to see if the owner would be in and whomever spoke to him said he would be there until 6. So we went in around 4 pm and the girl behind the counter wasn't too helpful, she just said she had her eyes on him but then he disappeared so he must be gone. She never asked another employee or offered to message him to see if he had left or not.
So we called to wee of he was in today and the person on the phone asked who was calling and why they need to know if he is in. So my husband gave his name and the reason and they said he was in, and if he were to leave there is someone else who could look at the cards. We got there about 10 minutes later my husband went in to be told that the owner was not there.
So overall, poor communication among the employees and a prominent lack of customer service skills for some of the employees, I can not speak for the Magic side, but at least for the pokemon side.
But there is an employee there who is an older man with gray hair. He is AMAZING. When I took my son in who has special needs he was so kind an patient with him. He is always super informative and helpful. He is the saving grace for all my...
