Seoul Kitchen — Restaurant in Bellingham

We decided to take our kid to go walk around the mall and have dinner at the food court while we were there. I walked by this place which apparently opened two months ago and was intrigued by the menu options which are unique compared to the other Asian themed restaurants in the food court. A man behind the kitchen counter beckoned me to try the Bulgogi. I believe the young girl working at the register was his daughter. I ordered that and the boneless chicken wings. I was pleased with the value for the money, as portions were large. The food was good, with plenty of meat on the bulgogi and the chicken wings batter was very crispy. Everything tasted fresh. Cashier was friendly & I’m all up for supporting small businesses, but the Beef Bulgogi we ordered was not a bulgogi at all. I’ve had so many Bulgogis in my life and this one is not a Bulgogi. We love Korean food and we travel all the way to Vancouver, BC just to have it every week & we got excited seeing this place close to our home. But it turned out so disappointing. The sauce they used for the Bulgogi tasted like a Thousand Island salad dressing. I don’t think this is a real Korean place. Even the fried chicken was so dry and tough. Best fried chicken in the county, maybe the state. I dream about this fried chicken. I think about it when I don't want to think about it. Plus the service is super nice, makes you feel like you're a guest in their home even though you're literally in a mall food court. How do they do that? You tell me, I'm still not sure. If I could rate this shop higher, I would. I've never had better fried chicken.
