I have been continually training at Oppose Gravity for the past several years - went to UMHB for graduate studies and now a Physical Therapist when I found out about this gym and I can confidently say that it is one of the best gyms I have ever been to. If you are looking for a gritty warehouse gym secluded near Lake Belton - This is the GYM for you.
This facility provides top notch equipment for training for individualized needs such as: powerlifting, olympic weightlifting, body-building, crossfit, and general loading. They also have a performance area for mobility, stretching, core strengthening, endurance work, HIIT workouts, power based workouts, plyometrics, performance and more.
The owners - Paul Allen, prior football player at UMHB, has extensive background and experience with powerlifting, coaching, sports performance, and strength and conditioning programming. While Alyssa Allen, with prior NCAA collegiate background in gymnastics, has extensive background and experience with coaching, olympic weightlifting, CrossFit and performance. Added together with the help of their staff make a hell of a team.
The strength and conditioning professionals/coaches at Oppose Gravity are fantastic. They encourage and excite performance, growth, personal records, and goals. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced athlete, this gym is awesome for athletes of all ages.
Overall, I highly recommend Oppose Gravity to anyone looking for a great gym experience. The staff and facility are fantastic, and it's a great place to achieve your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI hired Alyssa as a trainer for the 3x week workout plan. I worked out on my own utilizing the workouts she wrote out for me each week. The workouts were specifically written just for me to help me reach my personal goals. She was friendly and always available just a text away or there in person if I had any questions. The program I did for 3 months and definitely saw changes I was looking for. With her constant communication, that is what Iād say held me accountable and kept me motivated to show up each day! Thank you Alyssa. I learned a lot from you and still enjoy attending OG! As for the gym, itās definitely my type of environment. Every staff member is friendly and willing to answer any questions. The gym is spacious and does not ever feel crowded like other gyms in this area. Thereās always a staff member cleaning so I also feel it is well kept. Paul the owner is always available as well for any questions I have as well and is always friendly and helpful. Last but certainly not least, the trainers (Olan and Marcus) for the youth are awesome. My son began training when he was 13 and will be 15 this year. He looks forward to going and has built a relationship with all the trainers. Heās even referred friends/teammates who now attend which makes it even more exciting for him. Iāve seen a change in him mentally and physically when it comes to āworking outā and have OG to...

I came here ready for a fresh start and ended up finding a community, a purpose, and some seriously swole glutes. The trainer I work with, Echo, is an absolute legend. Sheās kind, knowledgeable, motivating, and somehow gets me to do things I swore I couldnāt ā like cardio and not skipping lunch.
The in-house nutritionist, Hailey, deserves her own TED Talk. Sheās patient, understanding, and works with real people ā not robots who crave chicken and broccoli six times a day. She helps me feel encouraged even when Iām not perfect (which is often, thank you for asking).
Everyone here is friendly, welcoming, and somehow remembers your name like youāre Norm from āCheersā but with pre-workout instead of beer. Whether youāre training for strongman, bodybuilding, or just trying to carry all your groceries in one trip ā this is the place.
Also, the flexible payment options are clutch. You donāt have to do everything all at once ā you can choose what works for you and build from there.
TL;DR: I came in exhausted and just hoping to feel a little better. Iām now stronger, happier, and weirdly excited about gym days. 10/10...
