Bobby Lupo's New York Style Pizzeria 02-16-25
Walked in and had to ask someone where to sit. They said anywhere. We asked for menus and went and set down. We looked over the menu and decided what we were going to have. After waiting a while longer we finally asked if we needed to come up front and order or will they come to the table and take our order. She informed us that we had to order up front so we did!
She took our order and we paid and went and had a set at a table. The table hadn’t even been cleaned. We took napkins and wiped it off. We were trying to figure out what to do when we got our order. We didn’t know if we had to go pick it up or would they bring it to us. We did self serve at the water fountain. We ordered; Large SPECIALITY pizza (Supreme) 10 wings Fried Mushrooms Fried Parmesan Zucchini
They brought our appetizers out to us, the Mushrooms and Zucchini. They were OK, served hot and with ranch dressing. As I said, they were OK, nothing Special. The wings were hot and crispy, we did the Garlic Butter ones. Didn’t see any sauce on the wings. They were very dry. The pizza looked promising. It was the Supreme. It had nice amount of toppings on it. That was about it. It really had no taste. I put ranch and Parmesan cheese on a piece and ate about half the slice. Again, looked good but had no taste. All I tasted was the cheese and Ranch!
No one came and asked us if we needed anything or how things were. It’s like we alone in the restaurant. No customer service at all. I was really shocked at the overall experience! We thought we would give it a try so we did. Different people have different taste and it was a miss for us today! But hay, we all have good days and bad days. Today just wasn’t a good day for us today. Because and check it out for yourself. You never know! Could be a good day for you.
I don’t...
Read moreFirst time trying Bobby Lupo's and ordered delivery after reading all of the amazing reviews. Frankly was a little disappointed.
Ordered a margherita pizza and it had spinach instead of basil. That is not a margherita pizza...it is a spinach pizza. (I will admit though I went back and looked at the menu and the menu did say "spinach" , not "basil". But i would've never thought to read the fine print on a standard item like this.
The meat on the meat lover's pizza was rather dry and and the dough was alright...it is not NY pizza dough in my experience with NY pizzas.
The garlic knots were very dry had little to no flavor and I would have thought they would have included some dipping sauce for something so dry.
Lastly, the delivery guy dropped the pizza off on the porch and left. Did not even knock or anything. Who does that? I even added a nice tip in the app when I ordered. Who knows how long the pizza sat out there until i noticed the Slice app said it was delivered. Maybe that's why everything was so dry.
Overall, I am guessing the pizza might be better if we ordered and ate in the restaurant. It seemed to be home made and not massed produced like other pizza places...
Read moreFirst time trying Bobby Lupo's and I'm a bit disappointed. I walked in and ordered the gyro. Restaurant was empty, and staff was prompt and polite. I got my food within 10 minutes, but just disappointed with the gyro.
It tasted okay. The meat was large cut, almost like sausage. I was expecting the thinly sliced meat. The flavor was pretty good, but with the meat being chunks, it was distributed evenly throughout the gyro.
The pita wrap was okay too. Nothing crazy. The biggest disappointment was the squirt of tzatziki sauce. It was super thick and looked like it came out of a prepared bottle.
I'm not expecting everything to be fresh made/authentic, but I think a few tweaks could be made so it doesn't come across as prepackaged food.
I'll definitely be giving them another chance too. They have other tasty looking options on the menu. Maybe their gyro just isn't for me!
P.S. unfortunately no pics of the dish. I was super hungry...
