ALDI — Local services in Bemidji

Wonderful store with great prices especially on produce, meats, cheese & other dairy & frozen foods. Their canned goods are also good prices & quality. They're a smaller store (which I appreciate) yet you'll find many things there that aren't available in other stores. They carry a few of the more popular name brand items but mostly their brand or brands we may not be familiar with. But fear not! they are very good quality. They do have a outside pick-up parking area for on-line orders. They have handicapped parking. I've not used the restrooms, but have heard you need to ask for a key to use them. Since the entry into the store is handicapped accessible, I'm guessing, so is the restroom. Aldi's also carries a row of weekly, seasonal gifts - always fun to shop! Bring a quarter when you go because you'll have to use it to get a cart out of their shopping corral. You'll get it back upon returning the cart. Aldis has my favorite pint size chocolate chip cookie dough icecream of all time, one of their signature brands, but lately I have even come 3x in a week waiting to be able to stock up since u live 40 miles away and I'm lucky if I find 2 to 3 of that flavor..so dissapointimg that they can't stock their own brands when I know they have noticed its sold out for last 6 weeks..uggh..but still love so many other items abd always their prices and their checkout people are the some of the fastest in the industry abd they are very good at keeping up on opening more tegisters when line starts to form, and especially with all the ridiculous self checkouts in so many stores recently taking the place of actual service while checking out , making customers work instead of company taking care of them, and then rarely finding a store employee to ask for assistance or whatever u may need them for, aldis is far ahead of the game. Extremely limited selection, for example - No Cheetos, no Fritos, no Pepsi, no diet Coke or Pepsi. no whipped cream, only large eggs, no extra large or jumbo. No crunchy peanut butter. Only grape jelly and a couple store brand preserves. Service is non existent, no employees on the floor. Fruits and veggies are fair, not great. Quarters required to get a cart but no change machine, you have to wade through a checkout line to get a quarter. When I asked about this I was told they don't want the extra work of filling a quarter machine. Employee threw everything from the counter to the cart, including fragile items like cookies. Be aware you have to pay for bags. All of this I could live with if they were actually cheaper. They are not. Local grocery stores have nothing to worry about. Most shoppers will only be one time...
