This hotel is close to a lot of things in town and that’s about where the positives end. My family stayed here for a funeral and the hotel room was okay, but the bathroom door only latched if you pulled up on the handle and didn’t close the door all the way. The booking was already paid for in advance but the woman at the front desk tried to charge us a second time when we checked in. On top of that, we asked at check in if there was a funeral discount and the woman rudely responded with “we don’t have a discount for THAT”. On top of that, there was an extremely loud group of adults hanging around the second floor lounge area until 2am and kept my entire family awake half the night, along with other family members of mine in other rooms near ours. We had to be up early the next day for the funeral service but instead had to listen to that loud group of people disregard anyone else in the hotel. The next day, the key to our room didn’t work, along with a family member staying in another room. When we went to the front desk, we passed by the same loud group of people in the lounge area and they informed us that they were also having issues with their room keys that day and had to ask for new ones. The rest of our group, if they hadn’t had their key card fail earlier in the day, they had to get a new one that night because theirs also failed. When my family went to get a new key card, we informed the front desk of the obnoxious group of people the previous night and the same woman who was working the night before, was at the desk and acted like she had no idea what we were talking about. There was no way you couldn’t hear them from the lobby. The 2nd floor lounge is an open area above the lobby. The woman at the desk was shocked we were assigned to the second floor (a room SHE assigned us to) because apparently they were trying to keep the large group as the only group on that floor. She then told us we could “see how it goes” on our second night staying here because apparently she had already told the group to quiet down 3 times during the day. I doubt it. I wouldn’t stay here again because there is no regard for the happiness of all the guests, just the happiness of the group bringing them the most...
Read moreTo start off, we were not even sure if we were at the right place, as there is no sign outside or even letters on the building. There is also no literature or signage anywhere inside the facility identifying what hotel it was. It seemed likely that the Holiday Inn sold this property to a new owner, and they never got around to adding signs and lettering on outside of building. So, we were trying to check in, and apparently the computer check in system was malfunctioning so it took close to 20 minutes to just check in to the 2 rooms we had reserved. This was not the fault of the front desk attendant. She was wearing a mask then, too , which I appreciated. So then we go in our room and the TV has no remote. There also were no bars of soap in bathroom. When I went to front desk, was given 2 tiny thin round bars of soap. I was also given another remote which was not promised to work. I tried it and it did not work. Why did cleaning staff not mention that remote was not in the room? Or did management not do anything about it. Got to have a working TV! So a replacement room was offered, and we took it. The room was nice enough, had soap and working remote, but unfortunately had no microwave or mini-fridge. I did not notice this until the next morning when I noticed that the drinks we were going to have were warm and were not put in fridge. What Fridge? They don't have coffee makers in the rooms but do offer Keurig machines on request. I did request one. It was not obvious that they even clean or sanitize them between uses, as there was a used Keurig cup in the machine. Also, toilet had nasty brown stain in it. Anyway, this hotel staff/management not on the top of their game, that is if they even have one. I will have to give them a little benefit of the doubt and say that the hospitality industry has been hit hard by the Covid crisis. A few things they did get right, The beds were pretty decent. The heater worked. Unfortunately, every time it goes on, it wakes me up. I have had similar experience at other hotels. I hate those fan coil units. The hotel is in a great location, next to Leukens, and McDonalds, Perkins and Country Kitchen are just a...
Read moreThis is a terrible hotel!!! My husband booked a room because they were so cheap. There wasn't any signage outside the hotel. The sign on website pics that was on the stone part of the hotel looked like it had been glued on and it fell off. The lobby looked ok. We took the elevator to the second floor. The carpet in the second floor hallway is ripped and humped up. The floor felt squishy when you walked on it. The room was dirty. There were little white pieces of tissue paper on the floor between the beds. There was garbage behind the garbage can. There was a sugar type substance spilled on the front of the dresser drawers. On the dresser was an envelope saying that "Xia" had cleaned our room, but she obviously missed some spots. There wasn't any toilet paper in the bathroom. There was a whole punched in the top of the bathroom door. My husband told my son's to stop laughing about the door and run down and get us a roll of TP. Later on we discovered that the bathroom sink barely drained, so we started using the bathtub as a sink! At one point I thought that the toilet handle was broken, but my husband took the top off the toilet tank and reattached it --- it was black in the tank and I assume that was black mold. We went to the pool area. The bottom of the pool and hot tub looks dirty. The hot tub only stays on for about a minute when you press the button -- not 15 minutes. The sauna was locked and you couldn't use it. I couldn't use the hot tub because it made my skin feel tingly. I assume it was from bad chemicals because that has never happened to me before in a hot tub. And, there was a wad of hair and a flash eyelash on the floor by the pool. When I went to write a review on Expedia it informed me that I already had!!! What a scam. I have pics...
