I realize many businesses have a lack of employees right now. That doesn't excuse poor quality and service. 25 minutes after we ordered, the waitress came back to tell me they were out of wheat bread. Our food should have been done by then since there were only 2 tables out of the four tables that were still waiting for orders, not just beginning to be made. There was a constant conversation going on from the kitchen with our waitress and others who were apparently not working? After 35 minutes we received our order. Both of our orders had toast so hard(almost all burned) it was breaking apart and we couldn't eat it. My son's roast beef sandwich was cold. My decaf coffee was obviously not fresh. There were only 4 tables in the entire restaurant with customers so, there is no excuse. The entire hour we were there, the one waitress who was working (there seemed to be another one but we never saw her do anything) never bussed a single table or wiped any. There were many that needed. Our booth had obviously not been cleaned well at all as we brushed food onto the floor when we sat down. Our waitress never came to the table to ask how things were. We had to flag her down to ask for the check. We watched 2 customers stand at the till for over 20 minutes waiting to pay. One couple seated themselves since no one ever came out to greet them. The waitress still hadn't gone to their table before we left. THERE WAS NEVER MORE THAN 5 SEATED TABLES OF CUSTOMERS THE ENTIRE HOUR. NO EXCUSE FOR THIS POOR SERVICE. I was a waitress. She's the worst waitress I've ever seen. My sister used to be a manager at this Perkins. It used to have quality food and service. I will not be going back. My sister would be appalled and ashamed. The prices have also become much higher. My son's milk cost the same as a gallon of milk in the store. For 2 of us to...
Read moreDisaster, horrible service.Sat down...20 minutes for a hello, 20 minutes later got water then 1hr 15 min later we walked out along with four other tables. A Saturday only had one cook and blamed the horrible wait and service on inability to find staff. This is Saturday Jan 15th the Bemidji State students have returned. I did speak regarding the two hours never to receive food and manager seemed to not care.I said we would Never return unless they could make this right and she didn't want to offer even a free muffin or cup of coffee. Lived in this town for 20 years been to Perkins at least 50 times but it is a disaster there. The manager has not tried that hard to find help. I talked with manager for 10 min giving ideas on how to find help. Kept seating when they knew the wait would be well over an hour. I am 60 yrs old and have NEVER walked out in any restaurant. Her standards are very low now. Waste of major time. Many hockey families visiting for tournaments walked out. Disgrace for this town absolutely no excuses for this. Manager said well this is just the way it is now and I pointed out three to four places including Country Kitchen next door is not experiencing the staff shortage. The manager and head weekend hostess both never once swept thru to back room so it is easy to forget your hungry families. Extremely disappointed as this place used to...
Read moreThis was a pretty run of the mill breakfast spot. But to be honest, I was expecting more then average out of a cozy little breakfast restaurant that I just dont see around that often.
I would like to start with the service, the easy low of this experience. Both the lady at the front desk and our waiter were purely passionless. There is no other way to say it. Our waiter never really checked on us more then once and the lady at the front desk looked like she was about to fall asleep putting my money in the register. I know it may be unfair to expect more, but I feel like you guys would want your customers to have high expectations of your restaurant if you want to be successful.
The food was pretty good, decent rates on that all around from our group of 4. The main negative of the food experience were the eggs. They were so cold I thought I was going to get a brainfreeze. I probably owe this to the 25 minute wait. Otherwise, I suggest the country sausage biscuits.
Overall, I am still searching for the 'perks' of eating at 'perkins', and I will hope for a better experience next time around. I have had better, but I have also definitely had worse (I am looking at you...
