I have had AT&T as a service provider for almost 8 years now. I switched over to AT&T when my girlfriend at the time told me that it was a lot better than Verizon. Before that, I had been a customer for Verizon for probably four or five years.
I was not happy that switching from Verizon to AT&T, AT&T did not give me any sort of a discount. You would think that because you are moving over from one of their direct and main competitors, that they would give you some kind of a price break. But they did not. They also would not let me port over my old phone number, which also got on my nerves because they said online that they would be able to.
Fast-forward a couple years, and my phone started to be a slow piece of garbage. I brought it into AT&T, and they basically said “yeah they’re kind of designed to get slow after a certain amount of time, so you’ll just have to get a new phone. So I opted to get a new iPhone, it worked OK for about six months, and has been slow ever since. So for nearly 3 years, I have had my iPhone that refuses to send pictures 50% of the time, I can have full bars of 5G and be connected to Wi-Fi, it’s still will not receive calls and texts and send or receive pictures at least 10% of the time. I’ve brought my phone into AT&T multiple times demanding that they do something about it, and every single time they say “I think you just need a new phone“ if it was a simple as a new phone, you guys would’ve fixed it immediately after I started having issues years ago.
I finally got tired of all the emails of AT&T saying that I had a free upgrade waiting for me at the store, and my phone was being slow, so I decided to go in and check what the cost would be. Online, it said that I could get the new iPhone 17 Pro Max for $28 a month, I made sure to enter in all of the correct info as far as trade-in value for my phone and the condition of my phone, etc. So I went into the store, and asked them about upgrading to the 17 pro max, And lo and behold, they tried to screw me again. They claimed that they are not taking any trade-ins older than iPhone 13s. I explained to them that online it said my iPhone 11 was eligible and that they would need to honor it because they’re an AT&T store, they didn’t believe me, so I pulled it up on my phone and showed them proof that on AT&T‘s website, it does not specify that it needs to be an iPhone 13 or newer. I also proved that it said the price that I told them, and every other detail that they tried to deny. They kept giving me the runaround saying that they’re not going to honor that regardless of what AT&T‘s website says. So then I asked about removing my ex-girlfriend from my plan since we’ve recently split up, and upgrading to a phone that was cheaper because at this point I just was tired of paying $250 a month. They told me that if I kick her off the plan, and then get the free upgraded phone, which would only be an iPhone 14, that my bill would be $190 a month. I asked them to explain to me how when my girlfriend was $150 of that $250 bill, that my bill magically doubles in price when I have the same plan and upgrade for a “free“ phone. they had some bull crap excuse about multiple line discount and because I was a “middle tier, silver membership, tier“ that that was the best that they could do. I went over to Verizon just out of curiosity to see what would be their version of a good deal. They told me that they would give me the iPhone 17 Pro Max for free with no contract required other than a minimum of one year service, no credit check, and my bill would drop to $65 a month.
AT&T, you can go to hell in a handbasket, Verizon is going to port my number over and actually give a single crap about a customer who just walked in off the street, instead of you who, where I have been a loyal customer to you for...
Read moreWow... simply wow. This place makes me wish that zero or NEGATIVE stars were possible. First thing walking in the store, greeted nicely. When I told them I was looking for two specific phones I was berated and made felt like I was very incompetent by the manager. Immediately and loudly from across the room being argued with about why I shouldn't get the phones I wanted and how I would return them or hate them or otherwise immediately regret my decision. The phones I wanted were of less quality but i knew that and told them so. Still they insisted to argue with me about the phones in a very belittling and extremely aggressive tone. I had went into this store two weeks prior to my latest excruciating visit. two weeks ago they did not know what the price of the phones would do to my bill but now almost magically they knew; and knew it was going to raise my bill. I was told the first time I went in there that getting the phones would lower my bill.
Long story short, none of the employees are on the same page or even the same book, I left feeling very belittled and taken care of as if I was a nuisance, I was told 3 different stories, and aggressively argued with by the store manager.
I wish I could explain how bad going here made me and my wife feel. We will never return to this store again.
Also I had ordered these phones for my wife and myself a month ago; they still did not have the phones or knew when they would be getting more. Only told that there...
Read moreAt the beginning of my visit I would have given a 5 star rating, very helpful, polite was very satisfied, but then by the end I would have only given them a 1, he wasn't happy that I got my phone on line so he didn't seem like he wanted to help me anymore so he told me I need to call customer service, and when I ask if I could stay there and make the call so if I still need their help I was there, he didn't seem happy about it and when I ask for help he made me feel like I was inconveniencing him, thank goodness for the other worker that helped me. Whether you buy in the store or on line, it shouldn't matter, still is AT&T It wasn't like there were 10...
