China Star — Restaurant in North Carolina

My family and I had just closed on our home recently and started moving in. As with moving, there were boxes and items all over the house with some things yet to be found. After a long day of unpacking, we weren't necessarily in the mood for cooking, thus we ordered out and knew that Chinese food would hit the spot. We were excited to find our new local spot to grab some General Tso chicken, egg rolls, crab rangoon, etc. on those nights we weren't up for cooking. I ordered the food (General Tso, sesame chicken, orange chicken, house Lo Mein, egg rolls, spring rolls, crab rangoon, and some wonton soup), truly a feast fit for moving. Alas, I run to pick up the food and bring it home to the excitement of the crowd. Unfortunately, as we began eating our excitement began to dwindle with every bite. While the egg rolls were good and the Lo Mein was ok, the rest dove off a cliff. All the chicken dishes had a very fishy type smell and taste and the sauces accompanying them were lackluster at best. I will try it again to see if maybe they were just having an off night and will update this...

So this place USED to be our favorite place to pick up Chinese not anymore. There was a time that they forgot to give us our rice order and still charged us. Our mistake we did not check while we were there but they had never messed up on our orders. I called and let them know and they said that in our next order they can just give us the rice for free and I was ok with that. Well I called in today and mentioned the rice from last time and I understood that she was going to include the rice in the order. My husband stops to pick it up the women at the register told him she was not going to give him the rice and he asked so you are not going to give us rice we paid for and were told it would be given to us.. she straight up said no…. That is so disrespectful and unprofessional. I understand mistakes happen and I can deal with that but for you to just act so unprofessional especially because it was YOUR mistake! I can deal with mistakes and you owning up but being disrespectful and...

China Star Chinese Food is absolutely excellent. A family owned business, China Star has extremely respectful, well loved staff, and that joy is clearly poured into every meal that they prepare. The food from here is fresh, aromatic, and tasty. China star has the best lo mein that I have ever had, and each dish is richly seasoned and flavorful. The smooth noodles, tender vegetables, and savory protein never fail to be deliciously succulent and moist. The entree portions are also generous and heat up perfectly. I've dined on my leftovers from China Star for multiple days in a row, and each time tastes just as delicious and satisfying as the very first bite.
