First time visitor review: I was excited to try something new in this area. However I was very disappointed when I got home and checked my food. I ordered two plates. One was the hibachi chicken, steak and shrimp and was supposed to have extra vegetables to replace the rice. This plate had only 2 shrimp and no extra vegetables. And the other plate was teriyaki chicken and steak once again was supposed to have extra vegetables to replace the rice. Now reviewing the reviews customers are not lying about the small portions. I ordered no rice on both plates and was able to see the bottom of my styrofoam plate on both due to the small portions and missing extra vegatables. Save your money and yourself a headache and go to Kanki or Kaze in garner. Ugh! I wish I had taken pictures but I was so upset! I just wanted to get the food returned and to get my refund. Immaculately clean place, lovely staff… and a menu that tastes like it was designed by someone holding a personal grudge against flavor. The meat was so salty I’m convinced it’s trying to pickle my internal organs, while the rice was so bland I checked to make sure I hadn’t accidentally ordered a plate of warm air. The veggies looked like they were cut by three different people who weren’t speaking to each other. Thankfully, each entrée comes with a comically large ramekin of yum yum sauce so you can drown your meal, your taste buds, and your will to live all at once. The food was very bland. There was no visible seasoning on the vegetables, meats or rice. I ordered the Teriyaki Steak and Chicken combo, the teriyaki sauce was very thin and watery. I added my own seasonings and sauces to make it taste somewhat better. My wife ordered the Steak and Shrimp hibachi combo and same deal, absolutely no seasonings, very bland. She said the shrimp was overcooked, and her yum yum sauce was very thin and watery. We also ordered spring rolls and they were bland as well, I thought the wrapper was very tough and the cabbage on the inside was not shred thin, it was long thick strips.
