Claymore Shop — Local services in Birmingham

I came in looking for a custom suit or even tailored one if the right suit was available. Staff is friendly and wants to be attentive, but didn't quite seem to provide the adequate attention I was expecting for an establishment of this nature. They didn't have any selection for my size, assumed I was 42R without any measurements and then proceeded to tell me they don't have anything I can try on.

I was guided to a representative from Empire for a custom suit and the gentleman made little effort to help, honestly speaking. Didn't explain the process, didn't try to ask any questions, just handed me a stack of fabrics and said pick one. Then, tells me that I'm the designer and he just stitches it. No one took a moment to measure me nor ask what I'm looking for. They didn't discuss suit types, styles, or ask what I was looking for.

It's hard to say, but I definitely felt not so welcome in this store and the experience is nothing like what others in these reviews have stated. Very disappointed to say the least and I spent the next 2 hours driving around town to find...

Stopped in finally the other day to check out this store, I had heard about it months ago but kept forgetting to make the drive out to see it and boy do I regret not going sooner. I was instantly blown away by the selection they had as well as the the customer service. Kurtis helped me pick out a great pair of trousers and Allen did a fine job marking them up to be hemmed. It was wonderful to be able to talk to these two about classic menswear and I fully intend to be a repeat customer. The Claymore Shop has become the only place I shop for my dress clothes. The prices definitely aren't for everyone, but the selection of suites, ties, jackets, and slacks is very good, and and anything they don't have, they're happy to order to make sure you get exactly what you want. The service is exquisite, and it's the kind of place where most of the clients know the staff by name, and the staff seem to know the clients all by name.
