We boarded our 2 dogs for the first time with Top Dog, and the entire experience was incredible!

When we showed up with our dogs, the owner immediately recognized them from their online profile, and the staff called them by name! That alone was all the reassurance I needed. They reassured us, as first time boarders, that our dogs would fit in with the group and that we could call and check on them if we needed to.

The facility looked and smelled even cleaner than I thought was possible for a dog boarding facility, especially after reading reviews for other facilities that complained about the hygiene.

The staff were all so friendly, and I get the feeling that they get to know each dog in their care as an individual. One of our dogs is a grumpy old man who typically avoids playing with other dogs. When we picked him up, he was in a great mood and the staff said he enjoyed himself and played with his group of dogs.

The entire experience was better than I could have imagined. If we need to board our dogs in the future, I would feel confident bringing our dogs back to Top Dog. They received excellent care, and I believe they were truly loved on while...

Enough cannot be said about how well the staff at Top Dog treats our animals. This is the only place I take my dogs where they literally try and jump out of the car window to get inside to play as fast as possible.

This was the first time that we boarded both of our dogs (we found Groot on the side of the interstate in August and haven't boarded him until this past weekend) and they both loved it. The staff is super attentive and love your animals almost as much as you. Groot had a small cut on his arm they were quick to point out and apologize for, but he was having so much fun playing I'm not sure even he noticed it.

If you want the best for your animals, you must consider Top Dog. They are a great service to the downtown working community - Birmingham being such a medical town, they have engineered their hours to be open and available to all medical shifts. For anyone moving to Birmingham to work in one of the hospitals, you need to consider Top Dog as a great bonus to working here - you have a petcare place that understands your schedule and works with you.

When my wife had to go into UAB hospital for a week, I was stuck for someone to watch our dogs. One dog was considered by many to be a "pit bull," the other a mastiff; i.e. 2 breeds that can be difficult to acquire services for, especially when you're 250 miles from home.

Worse, due to the prior abuse our mastiff suffered before we adopted him, he didn't like doggy daycare and didn't want to be in gen pop with the rest of the dogs. Christy at Top Dog could not have been more accommodating, and we are super grateful to her and the excellent staff at Top Dog for that. Not only did they follow our instructions to the letter, but they made sure our dogs got exercise and love for the 5 days they had to be boarded. We never had to worry about our dogs once.

When you think of your dogs like your own kids, leaving them with strangers can be worrying. But with Top Dog, it was really like leaving our "kids" with friends.
