I had to purchase various types of infant formula for allergy testing with the understanding I'd return the unopened, formula that didn't work for my newborn. I discussed this with the customer service manager behind the counter. When I returned 30 minutes later to make the return, the red headed customer service manager was so rude and disrespectful. She repeated its store policy not to accept that return. I explained the situation only for this women to cut me off repeatedly with "store policy, store policy" like a child. I literally stopped talking and walked out. I told myself I would never back. Months later I stopped in to grab a few last minute items. I was checked out by a teenager. He was so incredibly nice and well mannered so I thought I'd return and give the store another try. This week I needed stamps so I stopped by the Custeromer service desk, no one was initially there, then a customer service "manager" approached and I stated I would like to buy some stamps. She asked what kind, I said the generic forever stamp. She responds with, "wow you really know how to narrow it down, that doesn't help at all" in a very snarky tone without any indication of "joking around." My thought was to ask how do you work in customer service and have such poor delivery! So I specify, the American flag forever stamp. We don't have that, is her response. After an unnecessary amount of time. I finally get the stamps I need. This was the nail in the coffin. The staff in this store are friendly and respectful. However, these two women in these customer service " manager" roles have a lack of respect and just common decency. This is clearly a culture issue or two women on a power trip which makes me pity the staff that work under them. If they treat me, a paying customer, poorly, I can't imagine how they treat people structurally below them. This latest interaction with the Turnpike location will be my last. My advice to the red head and the frail black haired CS " managers", it costs nothing to be nice but it can end up costing you alot...
Read moreHorribly trained personnel. My son was given his first job here, and the hiring manager dropped the ball for scheduling his training repeatedly, over the course of several months this summer, until I finally advised him that he did not want to work at a place that allowed such incompetent people to hold key positions. This after spending a significant amount of money on proper interviewing attire for him and getting him his documentation for his first job.
In support of that sentiment, today I went to utilize their postal facility. Good luck getting anything done other than the most basic services. First the individual at the counter ignored my request for signature confirmation and information about available insurance rates. After finalizing a simple 'business class' transaction without these additional service options, he consulted the manager on how to void his mistake, as I could not afford to send this valuable package without a decent amount of insurance. The manager did not know how to do such, either, and informed him to call another manager. Long story short, fifteen minutes later, we were directed to Dan's North by Century Avenue, because they didn't know how to handle this kind of service. That's my next stop to leave a review, because when we got there, once again some poorly trained person tinkered around on the computer for around ten minutes (after five in line) and finally informed me that he'd never done this kind of transaction before and did not know how to do it properly. He said that a 'full-time' person would be available in the morning, or that we could go to a 'real post office'.
My time is pretty valuable to me right now, and this complete waste of an hour while I'm sick, and the risk of serious issues due to not being able to get done everything on my agenda was really upsetting. Even going so far as to admit that they didn't know how to do it right at the beginning would've greatly assisted me, but I feel dis-serviced in pretty much every way...
Read moreThis store allows semi truck parking while shopping, so we stopped by today for the first time. Great find, we will definitely be back in the future. First, let me tell you about the deli. We bought a couple of pounds of Open Acres roast beef and it is the best deli cut roast beef we have ever found. It's like thin sliced rare/medium rare premium steak. Excellent. Also, I found the #1 best bread I have ever tasted, and I got it here, for the very first time. The brand is Izzio and I got the cracked rye and chia seed variety. I'm instantly hooked. I'm ruined for all other, lesser breads going forward. Wow. Just wow. I must have more. There are also lots of salads and other cold items, along with a really great looking salad bar which we did not try, only because of the very limited space inside our fridge. We managed to find enough fresh fruit at the end of the season that we were able to gather up a nice fruit salad for later. The store is very clean and bright and the employees are helpful. Lines at checkout are minimal. Prices are higher than walmart but so is the overall quality of the available stock. Like I said, we will 100% be back next time we pass through town. Thanks, Dan's...
