It's Kohl's. Need I say more? I used to shop here for work clothes when I had a job at a physical location , a job interview or possibly a special event or funeral. When I started working remotely I stopped shopping here. Except, and this is a big exception, for Amazon returns. This is my go to place for Amazon returns. The best time to go is during the week while everyone else is at work, preferably in the mornings.... Not when they first open, but maybe an hour or so after they open.
This is essential for avoiding people with type A personalities. You know, just drive by a Great Clips shortly before they open and you'll see about five old men standing outside the door waiting to get in. Same situation here, only it's older women. I have nothing against the elderly or people with type A personalities as I'm nearing 50 and have a type A personality myself. As a type A, I try to avoid other type A's because I have oily skin (self moisturizing) and consequently look about 36 years old and dress on point for that age group. (I still get carded at 49). Lucky me. I guess this is karma repaying me for having to endure the acne that oily skin brings to an adolescent.
So my last visit was in the afternoon, which is quite unlikely me, but I needed to get some stuff back to Amazon. Let me tell you, there were more people in the store returning Amazon items than there were Kohl's shoppers. Go figure. There was literally a line 20 elderly long. Three were doing Kohl's returns, one old man appeared to be a filling out a second mortgage application, he was taking so darn long, and the rest of us were there to return stuff to Amazon. Needless to say, the 15 minutes I spent in line was the longest I have ever spent in a line in the past 15 years. That being said, from walking up to the register to getting my return receipt was only about 12 minutes. Agonizing.
In any event, what used to be a basic department store is now my preferred Amazon drop off location. As a side note, the Amazon drop off location has moved from the housewares corner of the store to the exact opposite end, right next to the Kohl's returns counter. And if you care, if you find yourself in the wrong line it shouldn't really matter, both the Amazon workers and the Kohl's customer service store workers are able to process these returns for you. Don't let the customer service desk tell you otherwise. Just make sure you have your QR code handy and your return should go swimmingly.
Also, make sure you grab your receipt as it comes with your Amazon return confirmation, tracking info and a discount offer for your next shopping trip at Kohl's. 15% off or something like that.
In the end, this is a department store for older folks who still wear pleated slacks and for us Young whippersnappers it's my go-to stop for Amazon returns, which are always speedy if you have your shiz together. And please have your shiz together as there's a type A standing in line right...
Read moreI don't know how Kohls gathered these rude & unprofessional people become their employee but for sure a lot of them need more training! They treated you like a beggar eventhough beggar still need to be treated dignity, how much more you need to treat your customer respectfully. I am sorry for the owner that hired that kind of quality of people, you lost my business and I believe you lost business from a lot of customers that have similar experience. The customer service asked me with rude tone of voice and angry face because I am returning some merchandise. I can tell that her attitude change a little bit after she saw my receipts that I was returning only some of the stuff, not all of them. Also very impatient cashier eyeballing me with stretch face. She acted like I am bothering her instead buying. The 25% discount that they said in the advertising is actually cannot applied to some of merchandise that I was buying. Since I didn't know it then I tried to figuring out which merchanside should I cancel and which one should I buy then this not nice cashier tell me with rude tone and so impatient attitude saying a lot of people in the line, made me very nerveous and a little panic. But that is dishonest because there is not a lot of people in the line (I saw about 2 - 3 people and 2 cashiers). (She just threw my receipt with attitude to the shopping bag without asking if I want to keep it instead). Check your camera around 5.50-ish pm and see again that you do not have a lot of people in the line. Plus in case next time you have a lot of people in the line, you still need to treat your customer with dignity. They come to your store to give you business, not to ask you for free stuff!! That is my experience today in Kohls Blaine today Dec 6th, 2017.
My experience at black friday in this store: Beside rude, they are also lazy. I asked an employee (an old lady) where they put the homedics foot massager as seen at their paper advertisement. Without even think she just told me right away that the item was gone. I was doubt that the foot massager was gone that fast, so I kept searching and I found it...
Read moreVery nice large Kohl's store. We went there to purchase Asics shoes with our 30% off coupon that we received in the mail. We used to be able to use these coupons on almost anything in the store. Now, the special discount coupons can no longer be applied to many brands of shoes as well as other specific types of clothes and items that we normally purchase a Kohl's. When we asked about this apparent change in policy, we were informed that the product manufactures are prohibiting the use of promotional offers to purchase their brands of merchandise. Personally, I don't know if this is the truth, or if Kohl's has simply changed their policies in order to help the bottom line. In either case, it makes the special promotional discounts much less attractive when these promotional offers cannot be applied to the things that we usually buy. As part of our purchase, we also received $30 in Kohl's cash that can be applied to a purchase in about a week from now. I read the fine print on the Kohl's cash, and lo and behold, it has the same kind of restrictions as the 30% off promotional discounts. In other words there are many classes of items and brand names that are...
