I've been working with Hallmark HQ's in Kansas City for many years and have always tried to support their business. But when occurrences like this happen, I completely understand why they continue to lose market share.
I have two small children, work full time, but still make an effort to go into a Hallmark location to support the brick and mortar stand alone stores. This will no longer be the case for this location. When I have $300 of merchandise to buy, but halfway through my 5 year old urgently needs to use the restroom & I'm told while holding a one year old on my hip I will have to go back outside in the cold to walk 4 stores down to use the Dollar Store restroom - then to walk back in the cold to completely my purchase. I even asked please could they make an exception, blank stare and an even ruder NO. Then I too have a NO, as I will no longer purchase from your store - yes I will walk out to use another store's restroom & then directly into my car.
I will buy my items at a location which is customer friendly to the younger generation & guess I will have to skip sharing the experience of creating memories with the next generation of shopper at your location. Look around Amy, what is the average age of your clientele? You may need to revisit your long term business strategy.

However, there is some stipulation where the value is up to $2.99. This shouldn't be a problem, but then changes occurred. Instead of getting either a free card up to that value or having that amount knocked off your total, they required that it can only be used on cards specifically from the "just because" section. In this location, there are almost no cards to choose from in the "just because" section. I struggled to find a get well card from this section. Please offer more cards in this section, it was barely stocked with anything. Makes me reconsider taking the special trip to this location when I can easily buy cards at the grocery store. All of the other cards here are well over $2.99, so I don't see why it can't be taken off the grand total of cards being bought and especially since it is a one time...

Holidays are always a time to stop in and see what is new and find some favorite ornaments and indoor decor. This store is in a mall. There is plenty of parking, though you need to cross where cars...
