Let me preface by saying: Make sure to try and shop when the two Millennial boys are not working. They're lazy as heck and don't know anything substantive about the shoes.
However, I stopped by one afternoon as I was aimlessly riding my motorcycle around the metro area. I have been battling terrible neuromas in both feet and, at this time, had only a single pair of shoes, purchased at another local running store, that I was able to wear. My podiatrist warned me to avoid wearing the same shoes every day so I knew I needed to find something that I could stand to put on my poor feet.
I entered the store and explained my situation to the clerk. She had me stand on an odd looking device that scanned my feet. She then made some suggestions about footwear and disappeared to the back room to grab what she thought might work for me.
I had never heard of zero drop shoes before but as soon as I tried the Altra Torin 8 I knew that I was on to something good. Initially I thought they were hideous and reminded me of Bozo the Clown. She said Altras have a wide toe box, which would help alleviate pressure on the neuromas. The only color available in my size was white...nope nope nope...so she had a tablet computer and I was able to order the shoes direct from the website in a darker color.
I paid for my new Altras and departed on my bike. The shoes arrived within about 3 days and have been an absolute godsend for me. At this point I honestly don't care what shoes look like so long as I can wear them. However, the Torins have grown on me and I am going to buy another pair come pay day. They are not quite as hideous as I once thought.
This is a good store. The clerks know the intricacies of the shoes and my experiences thus far (I've been back twice) have been very good. If they don't have a specific color option it's super easy to order it. Plus, they don't rush you and there's no pressure to buy. Oh, and if you purchase something online and need to return or exchange it you can do so...
Read moreWent to Fleet Feet to get some new shoes as I’m at a standing desk with a treadmill and regularly get 20,000 to 30,000 steps a day. I’ve found only a few pairs that I’m happy with as nothing seems to fit quite right for one reason or another.
I believe it was Alli who took care of me and started me off with a measure of my feet with their system. After only a few minutes she sat down with me with images of my feet and was able to talk me through different aspects of my feet / fit for shoes. Some I had no clue about and others made complete sense (e.g. that my feet were too wide for a standard width but not so wide that a wide width wouldn’t feel sloppy.)
She then told me she was going to get a few pairs of shoes for me to try and explained why she had chosen each. I liked them all and she clearly knows her stuff but landed on a pair of Hokas. She was awesome throughout, yet absolutely no pressure at all to buy. Even when I did make my decision, she asked if I wanted to wear them out and I said “no because I don’t want to mess them up before I try them out at home”, she reassured me and told me about the return policy which is truly a no risk deal.
All around EXTREMELY pleased with my shoes after wearing them for about a week and really happy with the service Alli provided.
If you’re struggling to find shoes that fit, check this place out! They are great and will really help arm you at the least with some great info and hopefully, with a pair of shoes...
Read moreI’ve had multiple foot surgeries and years of foot pain. I’ve shopped everywhere and anywhere to find shoes that fit and we’re comfy for 2.5 seconds and then the next day the were awful. I’ve had tons of people try and help but they never listened….until one day I walked into Fleet Feet right next to Bremer and ended up talking to this guy who was actually listening to me and I said thank you again and went back to get wife from jewelry store. Turns out after my last ankle surgery my doctor recommended this store. I went in and sure enough Kordell was there again and EVEN REMEMBERED ME? He asked how my wife liked her pandora charm she was getting last time. Anyway this cat took me through customer service town where first impressions are GOLD. Kordell has the patience and the consumer customer relationship down so well it’s like you’ve known him forever or you’re his only customer for the day. He has fit my wives high arches, and my low broken down feet to feel comfortable and like I want to be adventurous again. Kordell isn’t trying to beat his coworkers in numbers but he is caring for the customer like they were his family!! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS...
