First things first: Amazing people, focused on customer service and hospitality. Everybody is wearing a decent uniform and listens carefully to the order. No matter how rush the cafe gets, they let the customer take the driving seat and choose their options well. They kept the unit clean and also pays attention to the mess. I liked the way they addressed every customer with a bright smile. Sali especially tries to maintain a positive customer relationship. I was served by Akhila, and she did a great job in serving the options as well as suggesting the best. I am pretty sure rest of them are as good or even better.
I’ve taken a falafel rice bowl, I must say it is a premium product and well below the market price. I have been visiting Mediterranean spots for quite sometime now and this one tasted amazingly good. 10/5 for the bowl. Price to portion ratio is beyond standards. Falafel is not too fried and did not smell oily which usually happens in eateries working in the same price band. Veggies are fresh and toppings are all tasted well.
They also have juices, shakes and desserts. I got the chance to try chickoo shake, Baklava and Kunafa. Baklava is for the sweet tooth, personally I’d rate it 4/5 for the presentation, portion size and taste. Chef Edwin efforts are visible in all the bowl items.
They have a decent seating capacity of about 60 and the place is tidy and spacious. They have well sized screens for the customers to choose their options and they are all color blind friendly. They also have a kiosk to place orders. Although orders from the kiosk take a little longer time than giving it from the line, it is handy. Staff tries to serve the people on the line first before going to the kiosk orders and hence the delay. May be they should prioritize Kiosk orders first. I did not get the kiosk experience but this part of the review is a word of mouth from someone else. They can also improve on wearing hair masks and gloves.
Location is very good and they do have enough parking spaces. They also have seating outside. One eye catching part of this eatery is that they have separate lounge seating suitable for photos.
I would definitely visit this place multiple times and suggest it 200% to anybody reading my review.
Came back after almost an year! I see new employees but the same old discipline. Always a better feeling to...
Read moreObviously, going to a restaurant on opening day, not everything is going to be perfect. Leaving 5 stars based on potential! I can't wait to come back once they find their groove! Got a chicken shawarma wrap, falafel piece, kiwi refresher, and a free piece of baklava. Wrap was DELICIOUS with generous portions and there were plenty of toppings to add! Although I was disappointed the rotating spit of meat wasn't behind the counter for us to see as I feel like that's a huge part of the shawarma experience, I assume it's hidden back in the kitchen. The falafel piece I got was cold and didn't fit in the little container they put it in so they smashed it down and it was falling apart - but the flavor was great and I'd still order a falafel piece in the future! The kiwi refresher drink was pricey and a complete miss, something about the drink mix tasted really off, like bad tap water or freezer burned kiwi, so I'll be avoiding that in the future. The free baklava was a yummy way to end the meal! They were very well staffed, but no one welcomed us in or greeted us, which surprised me for being a patron on opening day. The staff I did interact with while ordering were very friendly and everyone was working hard to get us served quickly! I wish I got the name of the cashier that rang me up to give him a shout out because he was awesome! There were a lot of typos/misspellings on the menus, but nothing so that I couldn't understand it. For the massive quantity of restaurants in BloNo, I've always thought we really needed a good Shawarma joint and I am very excited for the potential of this place and will be coming back for another chicken shawarma wrap and more falafel very soon! Excited to see Signature Cafe grow and I hope to see it become...
Read moreBloomington, IL has become sort of a meeting spot for my siblings and me (coming from Grand Rapids, MI; St. Louis, MO; Chattanooga, TN) because we have cousins who live in the area. Some months ago on one of our trips I googled “best Mediterranean food in Bloomington” and Signature Cafe popped up as the number one choice. I read the reviews and my family decided we’d meet there for lunch. We are originally from India so we loved the fact that it had a Mediterranean-Indian fusion. We were not disappointed!! It was so good that now every time we gather in Bloomington we have at least one meal (if not two) at Signature Cafe. The food is always fresh and delicious. And the portions are large - definitely can share or take home for leftovers. The kids love the Dubai chocolate - huge hit. We also tried some of their milkshakes…they were so good. I must also comment on the customer service and care - the staff are very welcoming and upbeat and they excitedly encourage us to try samples of their sauces and are happy to give us recommendations. The restaurant is very clean and it’s a lovely atmosphere to gather with friends/family. We had a large family gathering in the Bloomington area this past weekend so we stopped in so our other family members could also experience this goodness. And we catered a traditional South Indian breakfast for Sunday - even my 91 year old father kept commenting on how good it was. I highly recommend Signature Cafe - if you’re in the area you’ve got to make it a point to stop in and try some items...
