Krispy Kreme — Restaurant in Bloomington

Coming back from Chicago last night my mom, sister, kids and i decided to stop at Bloomington Krispy Kreme since the website says they were open until 10pm. We pulled up at 933 and decided to go inside to choose vs taking longer in drive as we were all getting assorted mixed dozens, we put on our masks and as we opened the door, an employee starts waving her finger signaling us "no". We thought the inside was possibly closed so started to the car to go through drive through. The female employee along with a male, came after us and said "we're closed and have already thrown everything out" when I said the website said 10 she stated "well, tonight we close at 930, we do have to clean, somebody has to, but for the inconvenience we had this box left" and the guy handed us a box of glazed mini donuts. We had planned to get 3 dozen assorted and based on the pricing for carryout orders this would have been nearly $40 worth. I'm sure the free box of donuts were some they planned on taking home themselves. I called the store this morning and spoke to a manager after waiting for someone to answer the phone for 2 min and 8 sec, when i asked the hours of operation and were told until 10, I told him my experience and all I got was "no, there wasn't anything going on last night, we should have been open until 10. I will address this with the crew" and that was it. I have worked in food service and know, even if you are slow nothing gets thrown out until after close. They were not busy at all (one car in drive through) and could have been cleaning so they could leave shortly after 10. I was appalled at this situation and got the impression from the manager that he didnt really care either. Krispy Kreme lost $40 worth of our business at this location, we...

Our daughter and son-in-law live in Rio, WI. We live near the coast in SC. The closest Krispy Kreme to our daughter is in Chicago. She and her co-worker drove 1 1/2 hours (on two different occasions) to the Milwaukee store only to return with no donuts due to very poor customer service and store conditions. My husband and I usually try to visit them in WI at least once a year. So this past week, we headed out from SC to Rio, Wi. On our long 18 hour drive, I told my husband that I would love to surprise them with freshly made Krispy Kreme donuts and he told me that when we stopped for the night, to see if I could find a store on our route. The next morning (October 19th) I called a few, but they did not have the special Scooby Doo donuts. Eventually, I reached the Bloomington, Illinois store and was able to speak with their manager, Matt. Matt told me that he wasn’t allowed to hold them for me, but if we got there before noon, they probably would still have some. When we arrived, he greeted me with a big smile and said, “you made it”. Not only did we get the Scooby Doo donuts, but we were also able to get freshly made minis (with Halloween colored frosting/sprinkles) as well as fresh original glazed. Matt and the other employees were so helpful and kind. They truly were as excited about surprising our daughter and her co-worker with the donuts as we were! We need more managers like Matt in this world. I can only hope that the Krispy Kreme corporation reads reviews because Matt and the other employees made our day! When our daughter saw the boxes, she squealed with delight! Thanks Matt! We’ll be stopping by each time we make the trip...

☆ Okay, so today Friday/ July 19th,2019 - it is Krispy Kreme's Birthday, I even got this delightful email with this really pretty celebratory photo of the special Birthday Donuts, Basically - a glazed donut with white cream filling decorated with a lovely strawberry flavored pink icing and colorful sprinkles -- an actual Birthday celebration donut....The deal was buy a dozen - get another dozen for $1.00, sounds like a great deal - right? Well we will not ever know how they were....because - not only were they totally O-U-T of the very special 'Birthday donuts' - they only had a total of about 6 or 7 styles left, the regular round donuts filed with white cream were out , as were most all the other types. After my bill totaled $25.67 - after tax....My family of 8 was to say the least - unhappy. SUGGESTION KRISPY KREME -- IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY,IT'S YOUR BIRTHDAY -- FIRST OF ALL MAKE 100% CERTAIN YOU HAVE THE PRODUCTS TO COVER YOUR BIRTHDAY BASH.....SECOND -- MORE STAFF ON HAND TO HELP YOUR CELEBRATION ROLE OUT THOSE CELEBRATORY BURTHDAY DONUTS AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHERS....If I had a balloon -- it would've popped from sadness. 😥
