Derrick would never.
I am deeply disappointed with the current state of our athletic department, largely due to the poor leadership and lack of organizational skills demonstrated by the athletic director. Communication is inconsistent, schedules are often last-minute or incorrect, and there appears to be no clear system in place for managing teams, events, or resources efficiently. This kind of disorganization negatively affects both student-athletes and coaching staff, making it difficult to plan and prepare adequately.
In particular, the alignment of the soccer teams is completely unbalanced, which reflects a lack of thoughtful oversight and understanding of player abilities. Some teams are overloaded with experienced players while others are struggling to stay competitive, leading to a frustrating and discouraging environment for athletes. These imbalances could have been easily addressed with proper evaluations and more attention to team formation.
Overall, it's clear that a significant change is needed in the leadership of the athletic department to restore fairness, structure, and faith in the ymca sports department.
Hopefully sooner than later, blue ash ymca can return to the stellar program it...
Read moreThe staff always greets you when you come it. I saw someone mention that all the weight are mismatched -they're in good order and nothing is missing on the wall by the machines. There are additional small weights on the other end of the room and kettlebells in another area.
They have medicine balls, yoga mats and squishy mats for you to stretch on as well as the inflatable exercise balls + 1 Bosu.
Lots of treadmills, multiple stair machines, 2 rowing machines and multiple bikes. I have never seen all the cardio equipment full.
Weight machines seem to all work well. I don't recommend visiting "after school" time unless you like vying for space with high school athletes.
I use the sauna almost every day and sometimes the steam room. The locker room is clean and well kept with private changing areas. My husband swims multiple times a week, alternating between pools in the separate buildings and likes them.
The basketball court is well kept.
The outdoor pool is being rebuilt as of this writing (March, 2025) and it looks like it will be incredible.
There is plenty of parking, the exception being when there is...
Read moreI had a very discouraging time the last week of March and first week of April at this Y so much so I don't plan to return.I would go to the last swim of the day that starts at 8PM,and on those weeks the swim lesson instructor ran 15 minutes late ending her lessons. On the app an even the lifeguard we talked to it was stated if i was signed up which I was I would of had a lane 8-8:45. It had been a very difficult week for me and the instructor and parent seemed only to care about their time and money. All I wanted to do was get my full swim in to try and relax and get some exercise at the same time. Hopefully the higher ups will talk to the swim instructors and say everyone who walks into the Y deserves to have their time respected we all pay for a membership, and lessons shouldn't consistently run over into lap swim time.I really don't think how I felt or that I was burnt out mattered at a...
