We went there for dinner tonight looking for something new and exciting in our food venues. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. not your typical bar and grill. The menu was a bit all over the place. A little bit of this a little bit of that. It didn't really have a theme. My fiance ordered the chicken tenders and I ordered the Parmesan encrusted tilapia. We both ordered side salads. the side salads were generously portioned and more like a junior chef salad which brought a nice blend of flavor. The chicken tenders had a very pleasant batter and were cooked to perfection. Now for my dish. Baked Parmesan Encrusted Tilapia. Topped with a tomato buerre blanc, served with seasoned rice and seasoned vegetables. (I ordered Brussels Sprouts instead.) First off , it was served on a thin rectangular plate not really giving you much room to cut or move your food with out it falling off the plate. it was just all bunched together. The brussels sprouts were under cooked an under flavored. Add Some minced garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil and sun-dried tomatoes then saute. The rice was curry inspired. You don't serve a curry inspired rice with fish. Lemon zest, and dill would of done the trick quite fine. The tilapia was smothered in buerre blanc which tasted like nothing more that a scoop of tomato bisque. It was completely drowned so you couldn't enjoy the Parmesan encrusted tilapia. It was like eating fishy soup. To really enhance the dish, just a drizzle of buerre blanc along the fish would of really brought out the flavors. I was going to let this go but I barely ate any of my dish. Our server ask if a wanted a box and said I did not. She grabbed my plate and walked away. What upset me the most is she didn't even ask if something was wrong. 16.99 wasted. At least the...
Read moreVisited this place for dinner with a friend. Ordered a couple of appetizers first that did not really present well but sounded great on the menu. Order the fried potato cakes and it sounded good and also the presentation was well but the taste is not there basically just shredded potatoes in a patty. I thought the sauce without but was missing something. Order the nachos but had a couple ingredients that I was not used to which is a sausage called goetta. I am a fan of sausage but the look and taste of this appetizer was not appealing and was lacking any flavor. The color of the meat was a big turn-off it was a grayish brownish meet and the chips although they were crisp didn't really hold anything not the cheese nor the toppings it was a mess trying to eat. Our main entrees was simple enough a burger it was cooked well but the fries were extremely salty. The other entree was wings and fries which were fine and a salad. The three stars a burger which was cooked well but the fries were really salty. the other entree was wings and fries which were fine and a salad. the three stars alone should belong to the beer. I would go back alone for the beer. I would only stick to the burgers and order a different side than the fries next time. The server Matt was extremely attentive and a pleasant guy explaining some of the local ingredients...
Read moreMy weekly Tuesday night trivia team started going to Slatts for the last week of each month when our normal spot at Catch-a-Fire does themed trivia. Driving by you might not even notice Slatts, and I don’t know that I ever would have ended up there if I hadn’t seen them on the Last Call Trivia website, but I sure am glad I did! To start, the staff is absolutely amazing! They are so nice and attentive, and if they know you are there for trivia they will do everything they can to seat you in the main room where you can hear the trivia the best. The food is absolutely amazing, which I did not expect if I’m being honest. We’ve tried multiple apps, some of which are half price during certain evening times, and all of them have been amazing. My favorites were probably the pretzels, chicken egg rolls, and fried zucchini. For mains I got the chicken tenders and they give you a dish of delicious chicken tenders perfectly fried with french fries that feels like it’s way too much for one person to eat. This week one person also got a burger - it smelled so good and he said it was delicious so I might need to try that next time myself! On top of this all we’ve won trivia both weeks we have played there which nets us a 30$ gift card each time and an even better reason to go back! Highly recommend for great service...
