I’d seen Crossfit Cerberus recommended on social media as a great gym, but I was skeptical it could be a good fit for me: a unfit, true beginner who hadn’t been in ANY gym in over a year. Motivated by my sister, I signed up two weeks ago and have completed 8 workouts since.
Y’all, this gym is unlike any fitness experience I’ve ever had. 1) The workouts are scaled for every fitness level, including mine. I’ve been able to get a good, hard but doable, workout each time. Other athletes pick the level of workout that works for them and we all end up sweaty and tired! 2) The coaches are fantastic. I’d never done CrossFit before and needed teaching every step of the way there first workouts and they didn’t bat an eye. I’ve felt supported and safe asking for help and trying new exercises. 3) Carl, the owner and head coach, is INVESTED in each person who walks in the door. He offers free nutritional support to get you started, and paid 1-1 coaching for those who need it. There’s 168 hours in a week and if you’re working out for 3-6 you’ve got a whole lot of other hours to account for. 4) No jerks allowed. Truly, I’ve met a dozen people these weeks and every single one has been cheering me on, helping me, or just generally friendly.
If you made it this far, just know you’re welcome at this gym. If you need a workout buddy, there’s friends waiting for you here!...
Read moreI joined Cerberus few months ago now. I can’t say enough how much of a benefit and value it has added to my health. If you have never done CrossFit, never done Olympic lifts or maybe it’s been years trust me when I tell you, this is the gym you want to come to. My anxiety and comfort level was through the roof when I joined. Afraid to get be judged for my lack of skill in the type of workouts and lifts.
CrossFit Cerberus was my 3rd CF gym to tour, and I was about to give up looking as others had just lacked in feeling Genuine! Carl right away was different. You will know within 5 minutes how genuinely he not only wants to help you, but coach you! You judge a coach by how well his coaches work under him. His coaches that he has selected to have work for him are the most professional I have ever met of any gym. I come from a old school body building back ground! It’s great, however I lacked learning range of motion and flexibility techniques. Again I was nervous transitioning. I also come from military with a bad back history. They care so much about your technique your personal health and quality of life it astound me. Here they use a level method, where you progress at your own speed, and focus on proper technique. They are patient, encouraging, and empowering.
The best decision I have made fitness wise in years, is joining this gym. It’s a...
Read moreMy husband and I have been members at Cerberus for 2 years. I have represented Cerberus 4 times in CrossFit competitions as well. Last year, my husband went in to cancel our membership and we were advised by Carl to pause our membership for a year and someone from his team would reach out to us a month before to see if we wanted to still cancel. Fast forward to now, we received a charge on our credit card for the membership. I reached out to Carl and told him no on reached out to us about canceling our membership 30 days before the membership was unpaused. His response was the typical here are our policies of either 30 days prior cancellation or pausing the membership for a certain period of time with an automatic renewal. My husband did the second option since Carl advised that and told him directly to his face a team member would reach out before hand. Carl’s response was we can cancel the membership but a refund will not happen. We are frustrated for the lack of communication and feel that we have been lied to. Carl makes you feel like a small community but when it comes to making a profit that is out of the window. Hope this helps others not to make the same mistake we did. We are now out $225+...
