The Mill Room at East Forty Brewing — Local services in Blue Springs

My wife and I booked The Mill Room for our 25th Wedding Anniversary (August 2023). Leading up to the event, the staff and owner where highly attentive to ensuring we were getting what we needed from the event. They coordinated the table arrangements, the bar menu (that we got to sample and choose from the brewery and other local spirits), and were very thorough in explaining schedules leading up to the event and what was available for our use at the venue.

The party itself was one of the most efficient events that I have attended and the two staff members that were assigned to our event were some of the hardest working and personable people I have ever witnessed at an event like ours. They were able to keep up with the bar while maintaining the cleanliness throughout the venue, they handled all the technical aspects of the event, and they were super attentive and responsive to any questions or concerns I had. After the party, they helped us box up all our belongings and left over food and although we insisted on helping, they assured us that we didn't have to.

I would definitely book this room again in the future and I certainly hope that the two staff members we had the night of would be available again.

We hosted a living celebration of life for my Dad, who was losing his battle with cancer. We wanted to be able to host an event that allowed him the send-off he deserved, and The Mill Room checked everything on that list. They had multiple options for drinks, we were able to bring in our own food (or you could cater, I believe) and they provided all of the tables and chairs we needed, and even set it all up in advance. We were able to use their hookups and projector screen to do a photo sideshow, play background music, and even had a live musical performance. Everything was clean and orderly, the flow of the space was really nice, as we left one side open for mingling and the other side for food/seating, and the outdoor covered patio with tables and chairs was an added bonus. You have access to the bar or can have your own bartender back there for an additional fee. Nikki was so nice and easy to work with. I have to commend her, because (due to the nature of the event) we had to cancel last minute, and then we had a turnaround and she helped us get everything back up and going within a day's notice. I recommend the Mill Room to anyone in the Kansas City area looking for a fun space for birthday parties, wedding receptions, graduations, or any other kind of event! We hosted my husband's birthday in August. Very affordable, especially compared to other venues. The event planner, Nikki, was very responsive and flexible when I had to change a few things. We did a weeknight, which was a steal, and even theirvweeke prices, while higher, are still an incredi deal. Food was delicious (pretzels with beer cheese dip, garden salad, and a nacho bar), drinks were great, and our bartender, Heidi, was amazing, from serving drinks to making sure food was kept full and even helping out one of the kids.
