Up from San Antonio In Kansas City for a Chiefs game. (Chiefs won) and I always try to eat at a different BBQ place each time I visit. This time it was Zarda BBQ in Blue Springs just outside Independence. About 2 minutes off I-70 it was easy to find. Got here about 5:45, not crowded at all. Staff was cordial as I came up to order. Went with my "go to" meal brisket and sausage, dudes of fries and beans. Meal came out after a short wait. First thing I noticed was it already had save on the meat. This prevented me from trying one of the 4 sauces at the table. The next thing I noticed ( being from Texas) was the sausage. It was sliced thin and round. Almost like a pepperoni on a pizza. Brisket was thinly sliced as well and both meats placed on slices of bread under. Overall the meal was good and tasty. Though I had to settle with what I believe was "original" sauce already in the meat it was flavorful. Both meats were well cooked. I would definitely recommend Zarda BBQ in Blue Springs, Missouri. (Side note: started getting more crowded around 630 as I was leaving. Plus a lot of pickup order heading out the door. Locals know)

3.18.24 Update. I'm disappointed. I always say Zarda is my fave spot for KC BBQ. But tonight was just sad. Vernon's were chewy, ribs were tough and dry, turkey was served cold, potato bake tasted like nothing but garlic, cheesy corn was cold, the beans were just weird like there was beef jerky bits in it, the sausage was just okay, the brisket had strings of cartilage in it. The chicken was so dry it turned a powder when I started chewing it. It was just disappointing. Sad. All we have positive to say about tonight's visit to Zarda was the Cherry Pepsi was good. When we got there they were having a birthday party and it was so loud in there. Once they left and it quieted down all I could notice was the sound of the fork on my plate. What are their plates even made of? ................................................ I love Zarda. The meats are juicy and great flavor. The sauce and sides are also good. Usually you have to sacrifice one in a BBQ place but this one has it all right.

Well...where to start. My wife and I are up on vacation from Texas (no shortage of steak and bbq places in Texas!), and after reading the reviews, decided to give Zarda's a try for a late lunch today. Before I go further, I should mention that I'm not a big reviewer, and it takes something pretty rotten, or very outstanding to get me to leave a review. Today, was one of those experiences! We went in not knowing much about the menu and such, and was met by Michelle, who efficiently answered my questions and gave us a couple samples of different things before ordering. Very helpful!!! :) We eventually ordered and received our food very quickly. We were pleased with the quality and taste of the food. They have many options for different, unique barbecue sauces, and the cole slaw was THE BEST I have ever had anywhere! Bought some extra to take with us. Loved it! BUT....about halfway through our meal, Michelle brings us a sample of their new burnt ends beef stuff?....And wow! I told my wife after the first piece that it was the best piece of meat that I have ever had! In the history of ever! And I'm no spring chicken, and have eaten at some VERY good places throughout the decades. The meat is somewhat burnt/caramelized, and literally almost melts in your mouth. As we were departing, I told my wife that if I had to choose a 'last meal' before departing this earth?....That Zarda's would be the place. :) I know, you think I'm yankin your chain...lol, and that reviews are always subjective, but I encourage you to NOT take my word for it. Just try it for yourself, and you'll be thanking me as you leave. :) Tell Michelle that Brad from...

If I could rate them a zero I would have. Xfinity is by far the worst cable/internet company you can go with. Especially their customers service. We have been a loyal customer for over 20 yrs. We had cable, internet & 3 lines on their mobile phone service as well. Long story short we retired, sold our house, bought an RV to travel around the country. So we canceled our cable & internet service & then come to find out on our next phone bill they charged us an additional $75 , called to find out why & they said because we canceled our internet service & they charge $25 per line because we didn't have internet service, which I explained why but they said that's just the way it is. So then I decided I needed a new phone & they told me I could not buy a new phone from them, again because I did not have internet service & the girl preceeded to tell me that since I canceled internet service they are trying to phase me out & that it will get harder to stay with them because they will not let me buy new phones or anything new that I may want to do. I couldn't believe she was telling me they were trying to get rid of me. Man what a way to treat a loyal customer for over 20 years. So they got their wish, I left & took all my phone line to a new carrier. And once we are done traveling & decided to settle down it most certainly WILL NOT BE WITH XFINITY I can tell you that, customer loyalty does not mean anything to xfinity! So you might think twice before going with them for your internet...

My family and I have eaten here once before and it wasn't bad but not super great. We just ate there today and it was pretty terrible. Wife went to order for us while I took the kids to the bathroom. When we all sat down, she said the lady who took the order was very aggressive. She ordered me burnt ends and the lady immediately (with a bit of attitude apparently) asked "do you want that in a bowl? Plate? Sandwich?" There were some other things but I forgot. Point is, she began rapid firing these questions when my wife had no idea what she was even being asked. (We don't really know their menu so didn't have a clue there were 10 different options for burnt ends)

That aside, next comes the food. I wanted burnt ends. What I got instead was basically a roast that's been chopped into cubes. I've had burnt ends before and these were nothing like them. This is no exaggeration when I say, whenever my wife cooks roast, it taste EXACTLY like those "burnt ends". Furthermore my wife got a salad as a side and it definitely tasted off. I can't explain it but it didn't taste right.

I guess the kids food tasted alright but I don't really know. When it comes down to it, I would expect a BBQ place to know what burnt ends are especially for that price and there is no reason to be aggressive when taking an order. Normally I couldn't care less about how the staff acts as long as I get a decent meal but today we got neither good staff...
