I had a horrible experience with my engagement ring. We originally went to Jared, and the ring was too big. They sized it downâbut it still came back too big. The staff wasnât helpful at all and gave off a âthatâs the best we can doâ attitude.
So we took it to Kay in Niles, and they added balls inside the band to help it fit better. It came back still too big and extremely uncomfortable. Again, I was told, âthatâs as good as itâs going to get.â
We went back to Jared to have their jeweler try again, and they added a butterfly piece inside. It still didnât fit and felt even worse. I was in tears. My fiancĂ© had bought me a beautiful ring, and I couldnât even wear it.
I was ready to give upâuntil we walked into the Kay store in Boardman.
From the moment we walked in, Jamie and Pete were amazing. They were caring, knowledgeable, and took the time to sit down with me. They explained that because my finger is so small, rings like the one we bought should be ordered new in the correct sizeânot resizedâbecause resizing them too small risks losing the stones. We could have went back to Jared and asked them to do this which would have been covered by the warranty with this new information we had been given. We decided not to go back to Jared as the staff at Kay in boardman earned our trust.
They truly listened to how uncomfortable the ring felt and helped me find a setting that was actually comfortable.
I felt heard, supported, and cared for. They were such a ray of hope in what had been such a discouraging experience. Iâm beyond thankful for them. They earned a customer for life.
I donât even mind the 40-minute drive to get thereâbecause I know Iâm in good hands.
Save yourself the heartache and just go to the...
Read moreI'm of limited means but wanted to get something engraved. I have a $32 tungsten ring I bought at Wal-Mart, and it's been with me for years. It has a significant, personal meaning to me, and I felt that it was the right move to get it engraved. I went to various shops, even other Kay Jewelers in other towns, but no one offered laser engravings. Determined, I branched out my search, and lo and behold, this Kay Jewelers said it would be no problem. My design was also a bit complicated, but I brought it in. They said 10 days, but I got it in 5. It was done for $38, and now I have a ring that has all the more meaning to me. When I got the call, I was busy with work, but I zoomed out there just to pick it up. I really don't think they initially had any idea how crucially valuable this was to me, even though the ring itself is of little monetary value. Even though I didn't spend lavish amounts of money, they treated me with utmost sincerity as well as excitement about the design. I was so touched that they cared about something as small as this (but big to me), and I just can't express my excitement...
Read moreI bought an engagement ring for my fiancĂ© one year ago and the diamond fell off the ring. At the time of purchase I also bought the diamond bond and the extended warranty. When I recently went to complain about the diamond falling off they said that due to not having an inspection ever 6months they could not fix the diamond and I have to pay for the lost diamond. If the inspection was so important and necessary for the diamond I should have gotten reminder emails saying that it was very important to get the ring checked out. I am very disappointed with the store and the purchase I have made. Being a loyal customer to kay jewelers itâs very disappointing to have learned that they could not help me. Now I have to pay for the diamond and also have payed lot of money for the ring and the warranty. So anyone if u buy a ring make sure you go for the inspection or else the warranty...
