The Art Cafe — Local services in Boardman

I used to love coming here before Covid, it was such a nice place to relax and spend time with family/friends. I understand they’ve had to make changes due to virus precautions but I recently had a bad experience here due to management. Normally you can pick any colors you want for your projects that will match your home decor. Instead this time I was advised about what colors the owner would use and if I was “allowed” to use the colors I wanted together. The owner was very unfriendly and tried to micromanage everything we did. I don’t come here to make a project that looks perfect, I come to enjoy myself and make a project that I like. While I was there a party came in with multiple children and when one child tried to pick a color for the project the owner told them “you can’t use that color. During our questions an employee asked the owner for assistance but owner stayed behind counter. Only coming over when we asked the employee again if we were fixing our project correctly. (Attempting to remove paint, we even were fine if we had to wipe it off and start over, on a part of an ornament.) Her employee helped as best she knew how. The owner when she finally came over, said but “I gave you the tools to complete but you ruined it!” this the point when I found out she was the owner because I wanted contact a manager as to how she was treating the whole situation rudely. Went in to pick up my daughter's project and they tossed it. I understand I waited too long. However, with Covid I explained I tried to stop in periodically and they were closed. I showed transaction and asked if they would honor by giving a discount or letting us redo the same project and would even buy 2 other items since I had all three kids with me at the time.
