Yesterday, we had stopped by Harbor Freight to make a return, and we were waiting on a nearby restaurant to open, so we decided to make a quick stop into Beall’s, as we have never been in the store before. We - two adults and one toddler - just wandered through the store, seeing what they had to offer. We didn’t really look at much, as we only had about 20 minutes to kill, and we didn’t have intentions of really buying anything. As predicted, my toddler got super excited when he saw the toys section. He did not want to leave, so we let him check out the toys for a bit, while we also browsed what toys they carry. We noticed a scraggly-looking guy with an earbud in one ear come up and start looking at the toys. I didn’t think much of it until he did not go away, hanging around. Then, I realized he must be Loss Prevention. It was unsettling. No one likes to be made to feel like they are about to steal something. We didn’t have a buggy, big bag, or heavy jackets. I have no idea how we would have stolen something, nor would we have because that is not who we are. We felt so unsettled that we wound up leaving after this, instead of continuing to browse the rest of the store. I could not find a way to leave feedback on the Beall’s website, so I decided to do it here. Please do better. It’s a shame when your LP deters honest people from wanting to shop...
