Watauga County Parks and Recreation — Local services in Boone

FANTASTIC Dedicated helpful individuals running the Senior Games & other programs❗️Constantly improving facilities. With ‘many’ experiences 2002 on, I have been ‘extremely’ pleased working with numerous staff & using their improving facilities. Having lived in 9 of the largest & smallest communities in NC over 75 years as a Life-Long athlete using many facilities, I can definitely say that for the size of Watauga County, none of the other 8 urban or rural county/city facilities/staff could relatively compare to this staff & facilities❗️I have been an experienced Google Guide reviewer for quite a while writing these type reviews & reading reviews before using listed services. The # of 3 reviews listed with my name above is incorrect, since, I just bought a new iPhone & have not yet downloaded my data from my over 25 years of cell phone use & many many Google Guide Reviews. I have read 1,000s of ‘one’ Reviews. A number are legitimate well deserved Reviews of operations that have significant problem(s)! But many ‘one star ⭐️’ reviews are written about a ‘high 4 🌟’ operation, where that one individual had a relatively small one dimensional/ one time problem with that operation that may or ‘may not’ be an out-of-ordinary procedure for that size operation anywhere! Some times, it’s obvious that that the problem is not with the operation! My over 100 exceeding pleasing experience with Watauga Parks & Rec since 2002, compared to 3 or so one time experiences of [one ⭐️], many times one issue, experiences should mean...

It is hard to believe this is the center of the Athletics program for our Parks department. After multiple attempts to understand which of the rules umpires follow and enforce, it has left our team feeling completely defeated interacting in the community. Umpires and Parks and Rec staff have put it on teams to enforce following rules and setting standards while requests to the main office staff have fallen on deaf ears. If you are not a highly competitive team, be prepared to be unwelcomed in the league for wanting to play and expecting rules to be followed. If safety is a concern, this also is not for you as bats can be thrown out of the field and into the stands with no accountability...

Would give zero stars!! I will never come here again. the staff is completely unprofessional. we were screwed over for 30$, we arrived at 4pm and paid to go to the kiddie area only. upon arriving in the child area, both slides were closed and we were informed that it was closing at 430. talked to the Director of the facility, completely worthless. He blamed it on the front desk clerk , how he was working his first day there. how is it reasonable or acceptable to charge someone 30$ knowing full well they will get less than 30 minutes of time available. basically ruining a 6 year old boys birthday . we were refused a refund, and offered a rain check yet we live 200 miles away. staffing changes beginning with the Director of the facility should be looked...
