Update: The owner of Clean Eatz reached out to me quickly and explained they were having problems with their chicken supplier and was very apologetic for our experience. He also offered us some free meals to make up for it. We ordered a couple of meals from the meal plan and those were good! My husband just got out of surgery today and we're going to try the fresh meals this week to make life a bit easier during his recovery. Glad we gave it another chance!
Wanted to try out the fresh meals and was happy to try this place because it’s healthy and quick and I have a busy night. Got a bowl- super green salad base, broccoli, mushrooms, carrots with chicken and “goddess” dressing. First of all they shouldn’t call the sauce goddess… it’s nothing like any goddess dressing I’ve ever had. Tasted like knorr veggie dip mixed with mayonnaise. Not a fan and I can’t get the taste out of my mouth. Second, the chicken looked and tasted boiled, and somehow despite being skinless there was a bunch of mushy chunks, the consistency of tepid fat mixed in with the chicken. I’m still unsure what it was, I assume chicken fat?? I had to pick through it to make sure I didn’t get another bite because it was making me nauseous. To top it off there was no seasoning… I guess the taste comes from the sauces but I couldn’t stomach it. Pretty gross TBH. I never leave bad reviews but this was next level bad. Husband is in the gym now and hasn’t eaten his yet. We’ll see if he has the same experience. My old boss used to bring me their meals from time to time years ago and it wasn’t too bad, maybe a bit bland but the teriyaki sauce was good… the monstrosity I had tonight doesn’t live up to the hype. Gonna go make some...
Read moreIf you're vegan and expecting a place with a name like Clean Eatz to have remotely edible vegan options, you're mistaken. I had the most bland bowl of my life due mostly to the fact that they forgot my salsa. The tofu was cooked cluelessly, some of the brown rice was undercooked, clumsily cut and massive pieces of onion were thrown on and I ended up picking off about a half cup of them. I also had to remove another half cup of pickled jalapenos meanwhile I was given roughly two spoonfuls of rice and an even more pitiful amount of black beans. This was like meals I've had before when money's tight except I added sensible amounts of ingredients and spices for God's sake. Not so much as a pepper grind and it cost almost $12. Had I known what I was getting, I would have paid double the amount to go hungry and not have this meal ruin my day. It's like whomever made this dish hated me personally. Honestly confused at how they let this travesty leave...
Read moreMy family and I ordered from Clean Eatz for the 2nd time tonight. The first time the food was average. Nothing to write home about but not bad. Tonight was a different story. One of my family members ordered sweet potato fries. They stated that the seasoning was weird and the potatoes were dry ( I can't eat fries so I couldn't verify). My other family member and I both ordered bowls. They were bland even with the dressing on them. The chicken on mine was dry. The other veggies on mine were overcooked. I was starving but opted not to finish the food I purchased. It will need some doctoring to for me to finish it. My other family members exact words were, "well that was not great." This will be our last visit which is a shame because I like the concept behind what they do. I want to support them. But I will not spend money for food I can make better...
