Usually I enjoy taste grill so I write this with a heavy heart. I went in to pick up my order after I placed it online. Me and my fiancé walked in to pick up our takeout order and stood in front of the front desk and patiently waited. After standing directly in front of the counter without even a single greeting within the 5 min we stood there. We then sat down and assumed they were just busy. After waiting for another 15 min and after they greeted and helped three other customers and sent them on their ways we still had not even been acknowledged. Throughout this time the staff was routinely joking with each other and carrying on a good time all the while spouting profanities. Eventually we got fed up and had to approach them to even inquire if our order was ready. They only had half of our order ready and checked ya out with a very unsatisfactory tone towards us. To wrap it all up I spent 2 extra dollars on extra sauce and when I arrived home I noticed there was 1 out of 4 sauces that actually had the lid secured properly. So I paid 2 dollars to have a bag full of sauce.I have worked for 5 years in foodservice so I have a ridiculous amount of patience for situations like this but I will not put up with this. Even if I am slammed and need to be running around my place of business I will at least tell someone I will be right with them. If I could leave half a star for this review I would. Hopefully customer service...
Read moreDiners Beware. I have been to Taste Grill many times but today was such a huge disappointment. The only thing that makes me feel better is to know I can write a review. First,..I pre-tipped 20% because I know how hard restaurant staff work and I wanted them to know how I appreciated them as they prepared my food. The quality of the food was the worst I have experienced. I don't think anything they make is scratched based. Our order included a combination of egg rolls, vegie rolls and spring rolls. All were the same when I got home with my order and they were poor quality. Just mushy cabbage in soggy wrapping. The Vegie Gyoza was okay. My daughter could not eat it. It is obviously a frozen product and I could have gotten the same item at a local grocery store. Other items I ordered were just as poor quality. (Wonton Soup, Sesame Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan, Vegetable Tempura). The hot-fried Vegie Tempura was placed in a styrofoam box that melted into the food. The owner's spouse was very friendly, however when I asked for hot mustard packets she ASSURED me they were in the bag. They were not. I have always enjoyed this restaurant and it is very disappointing to realize that so many restaurants no longer make things from scratch. I would give ONE STAR, however I've had decent experiences in the past. Save yourself some money and just go to your local grocery store and get the frozen items. Same...
Read moreI hate leaving bad reviews, but this place is a joke. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because my 88 year old mother really likes their Hot and Sour soup. I ordered a tofu dish and it might as well have come out of a can. No interest, no care, not worth eating hardly. The peas and carrots were clearly frozen and I'm guessing microwaved, because some of them were overcooked to being dry. The sauce clearly was poured out of some container and heated. The tofu, well it was silken tofu that I'm sure was out of a pouch and it's hard to mess up, but I amazed that it came out at all so little care was put into the dish. Our waitress was wonderful and admitted that she would not let her family eat there after I spoke with her about my dish and some of the other dishes. My mom continues to go back for the soup, but that's it. I also was appalled at the attempt to make it quasi Asian looking. Worst attempt at it I have seen. I've posted pictures. I have eaten at Asian restaurants all over this country and others and I don't know, but this one just got to me at the lazy faux attempt. It appears the owners are not interested in authenticity of what they are serving and barely care about the quality. If you have ever eaten at a genuine Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese or Chinese restaurant, I mean one where you go in and people from that country are eating there like I have, you would not step foot...
