I've been wanting to try it forever and finally did. The food is very much average. I have some other options that are better, one in Jefferson and one in Wilkesboro.
We ordered: -Beef burrito. It was literally only beef inside, the flour tortilla was not burrito size so it was more like an enchilada (open on the ends) and the tortilla itself was restaurant supply chain quality. Not much flavor. Meh. -Chili Relleno. It was a little undercooked (not crunchy but not soft enough to cut easily) and filled with white american cheese rather than real cheese. -Soup. I think they're all the same except for the protein and it was the best of what we ordered. Wasn't the best, mostly tomato flavor, but not bad.
I would like to add that their menu is pretty extensive and I'm sure my one experience doesn't define their food as a whole.
I am admittedly picky, am spoiled by SOCAL Mexican food and most Mexican restaurants outside of the Sothwest US are sadly lacking. Thay being said I've had some decent experiences. Monte D Ray in West Jefferson is decent, and we do enjoy going to Plaza Del Sol in Wilkesboro. If you're in Boone and don't feel like driving, that's understandable. I...
Read moreMy husband and I both love Mexican food, but I dont recommend this place. Every time I eat here it makes me feel gross afterwards (no other way to put it) and now since the cashiers daughter works there he basically wants you to generously tip her even if she sits at a table in plain view of you on her phone most of the time, didnt ask for our drinks to be refilled once, and never asked us how our food was. Come to think of it she only came to take our drink/food order and then one more time after when we got her attention to bring us the tortillas for our fajitas (supposed to come with it) which she ended up charging us for, tho her dad did take them off and told us to tip her more for doing so. Its convienent to my work but I only go here bc my husband drags me here, tho I dont think he will he doing that for awhile again.
*UPDATE To Los Arcois Reply: I know this is the right location seeing as I work in the doctors office that is right beside of the place. Your located in the same strip mall as Bellas and Chens...
Read moreRan across this restaurant on Google and decided to call and ask about wait times. They thankfully had no wait time, so we decided to eat Mexican for lunch. Chips and salsa were amazing. Chips were nice and crispy, and the salsa was flavorful. I ordered their 4 taco meal that comes with rice or beans. I opted for both beans and rice. The steak tacos, unfortunately, were not the best. The tortillas felt and tasted like they were microwaved and had been sitting out for a while. The steak was mildly warm, and the tortillas were starting to harden. Meat had no flavor, and just the tortillas being hard did not make it for a great taco. Rice and beans were good, though. I ended up giving up on the tortilla and just adding the steak into the rice and beans. I also ordered the agua de Jamaica, which was delicious. Our waitor was friendly. Overall, everyone else had an "eh" experience with their food also. Nothing spectacular. I'm not sure if I would ever return, but if I happen to, I may just try...
