I would not recommend this establishment if you would like your locks re-done. I came into the salon in person and mentioned that I would like my locks done. The salon was clean, the owner was nice and it "looked" like a professional environment. As the hairdresser tended to my hair I noticed that the method he used to do my hair was something new (feel free to visit the "Shine My Locs" instagram page to see). Looking at the finished product I was already ready to book another follow up. However, after my hair was done my hair felt very tight. To the point that I had a headache. I expressed this to him and it made no difference. When it came time to take it out of the tight style he used A TON of rubber bands.

And after my hair being done for less than 1 week it looks as if my hair has not been touched by a hair dresser in months. They tell you to come back every 4 weeks but it is a bad business practice. I paid almost $100 for nothing. I would not recommend them under any circumstances to anyone wanting their locks re done because after they take a picture of your hair for instagram, expect it to go back to normal. The owner and the shop staff were very polite but when a person is being scammed they are usually always nice. Horrible experience in regards to my locks and I will tell everyone that I know not to go there unless they would like their locks to look good...

From the outset, Rose was extremely professional, taking the time to understand my needs and preferences and guiding me through the decision between regular locs and brother/sister locs. Her expertise in every aspect of the process, including product selection and hair care, was impressive.

On the day of the installation, I was immediately put at ease by Rose's calm and confident demeanor. The process was painless and expertly executed, leaving me with a beautiful and flawless set of locs. To top it off, Rose followed up with me the day after the installation and again a week later to ensure my satisfaction.

Overall, I would highly recommend Shine My Locs and dreads to anyone looking for a professional and welcoming environment to have their locs installed or maintained. Shop: The shop itself was nice and clean and spacious which is very important these days. They follow the social distancing guidelines and all employees had their masks on.

Environment: The vibe in the shop was very welcoming with great music playing. The climate inside was perfect not too hot and not too cold. The interior design is very nice not overdone with posters which I can’t stand in shops. Just me.

Starter Dreads : They wash your hair before starting. Even though I had already washed it. I just assumed to make sure it’s nice clean and fresh for starting the locs. The owner is the one who started mine. He is very informative and attentive to his clients wants as I watched him interact with other clients besides me. Once your finished you get a certificate of fresh new locs with your name on it. Nice customer service connection idea to make the experience personable and a gratifying and pleasing experience.

Over all: I enjoyed my appointment time. I was very comfortable and relaxed. I never second guessed starting my new hair journey. He did a great job and was very pleased with my results. Thank you Shine My Locs....
