I'm not one to write reviews but after two bad experiences I decided to. For context, I've been doing my own nails my whole life (regular polish, gel, dip, tips etc.) and have a lot of knowledge about nails. Both times I came to Venus was because I wanted to save myself time and get them professionally done (I spend a long time doing my own). The first time I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure before a vacation. Both did not meet my expectations (which are pretty reasonable). The polish near the cuticle was messy and uneven and they didn't let me cure them for long enough as they never got hard and started peeling after a few days (for reference, my own gel manicure lasts weeks). The second time I came was today to have acrylics removed I had done at another salon (Ruby's - I recommend and will only be going here from now on). I knew I was able to remove them myself, but figured it would be faster to get it done professionally. BAD DECISION. The nail tech filed down the acrylic (correct), soaked them in acetone (also correct) but then took them out of acetone after 2 minutes (!!!) and started to take off the acrylic by peeling it off with a cuticle clipper. Literally aggressively peeling them off with a cuticle clipper, whilst damaging and physically hurting my nails in the process. Twice I said "ow!" and she giggled and apologized. If I wanted my acrylics peeled off, I would've done it myself. And at that, I wouldn't have because I know that the proper way to remove artificial nails is to soak them in acetone for 5-10 minutes and gently scrape them off. Now, my nails, which are already thin, are damaged and more weak. I am VERY unhappy with how unprofessional this service was. The fact that I could've done a better job says something. I did not leave a tip and will not be returning to Venus.

I’m so disappointed…. I’m having my graduation ceremony soon so I wanted to get my nails done before my big day, but the nail I asked turned out to be very far from what I asked, and my cuticle hurts. I went in asking to get the second picture design done on me, and they assigned me a younger girl who told me has a nail experience only for 1.5 years. She did many things wrong including blading my skin and it bleed, and tried to change the design, but when I asked to fix it, she will try to fix it but she kept doing it wrong. I got tired at the end as it took 3h, so I gave up saying or asking anything anymore, but I just think you shouldn’t ask $90 from a client when you’re using them as a practice experiment! The color isn’t right, the design is very crooked, the nail polish is all over my finger, I was bleeding when I came home, and the service was very rude. Don’t go here…. I want my money back 😩

I wanted to like this place but I can honestly say this place was not what I expected at all and will not be returning. I was quoted approx. 195$ for an appointment of 3 of us. Services we were getting were Full Set Gel: 60$ Designs approx 10$ each, two regular pedicures total 70$, Gel on natural nail: 50$ and a mani pedi for a Child: 35$. My child ended up going out with friends so it was the adult services done. They pretended they didnt understand what we asked for and they gave my friend a more expensive service and expected payment for said service at full price. We wouldnt have minded, however the application of the products looks like I did them at home and DEF not worth the amount spent. I usually go to the Nail Bar up the street, a little longer wait time, a tid bit more money but 100% worth it. I love designs and asked for something simple. It was black nails, 2 french tipped for the design of the initial of my boyfriend and some hearts (valentines day) the B's look like horrendous and I have done everything to not show my nails. They filed and clipped too much on both my friend and I's fingers leading to open sores on the sides...and my nails are all different some curved some straight.... the list can go on about how the overall experience was a one time thing. Just do yourself a favor and not go. There are so many other places around that are by far better and worth the money and time spent. If its busy, you know its good if people are willing to wait (nail bar in south bay is like this). never had a disappointment like...

This place is so small, but they really get the job done. This is one of those places where you could literally go to almost anybody and they all are good at what they do. They all work really hard and are super patient with you to make sure you get exactly what you need. The best I’ve ever gotten has been from here and when my friends comes to visit from out of town, I send them to this place and every single time they have left, so satisfied and wanting to come back to Boston just to go to this place and get their nails done. I really don’t wanna make this review because they already busy as it is but I just left there yesterday and was so thankful to be in a place where you don’t have to worry about people giving you , shitty service l. These days everything is so expensive and we really wanna make sure we’re going to the right place ladies I’m going to tell you this is the right place. The only thing is it is very small and I wish it was bigger or they had another location but at the same time it’s not stopping me from going back. The men that work there are so helpful too! Ty Mindy and the wonderful team! Annie does amazing everything too by the way nut I think Kristine is my new go to! They...
