My daughter has participated in the rec gymnastics classes at BGC for just over a year now & we couldn't be happier. She has grown in strength & confidence - this is now her favorite sport!!
When she was much younger, she participated in gymnastics at a different gym & as soon as she was bumped to a pre-team class, she was intimidated by the intensity of the instruction & the size of the other girls (she was added to a group of older girls). She quickly switched gears & participated in other activities for a few years, but last year wanted to try gymnastics again even if it meant starting at the beginning.
Bothell Gymnastics has been wonderful for her. ALL of her instructors have been positive, supportive & safety-conscious, but the most important asset to this gym is they do not push kids to the next level "just because." Kids must earn the opportunity to move forward by proving they have the physical strength to tackle the skills taught in the next class level - this is so important in a day & age when kids are given trophies & ribbons willy-nilly and have an unfounded expectation to move forward, not to mention that it highlights the focus on safety at this gym!
My daughter is PROUD when she earns a spot at the next level & she has the physical strength to support her. Keala, Adrienne & all of the instructors are amazing!! They also have started a boys' program, which is fun to watch as it grows.
In short, I highly recommend this studio as a place for kids to grow in confidence &...
Read moreThis place is horrible. In my kid’ third class(including the trial class), her feet got injured by the hazard existed in the gym ground due to their unfulfilled safety responsibility. This dangerous sharp metal bottom (I uploaded the picture) should not be there and I do not know how long it has been there like this. I asked for the accident record and received it. After that, I communicated with them via emails.
All the emails were uploaded here in order to let people know that, the owner are trying to deny their responsibility and still evident me that they take the safety issue very seriously. If they value safety, how can that kind of hazard exist in the ground. Safety is not to fix the hazard after someone got injured, but most importantly to keep the environment safe in advance.
I was so disappointed by Keala the owner’ attitude during this whole communication process. She was not willing to admit their fault and apologize. What I requested was a formal apology and receive no response at this point. This place is definitely not a good place for kids to learn. If nothing happens, everyone is happy. If injury happens, what they do and say just prove what kind of people they are. Please read all the emails if...
Read moreWe enrolled my 2.5-year-old nephew in this gymnastics club, hoping it would be a fun and supportive environment where he could learn and enjoy physical activity. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. After a minor instance of typical toddler misbehavior, we were told he could no longer attend the program. While I understand the importance of safety and order, the way the situation was handled showed little to no empathy toward young children and their developmental stage.
At this age, children are still learning self-control and social skills, and I believe a club that works with toddlers should know how to guide them patiently rather than immediately exclude them. Instead of constructive communication or offering solutions, the decision felt abrupt and unkind. To make matters worse, no refund was provided, which I find both unfair and unprofessional.
I truly hope the management can reflect on this and improve their approach toward young children and their families. A place that works with kids should not only teach physical skills but also understand and support the unique needs of...
