La Gloria Modern Mexican Bar — Restaurant in Bothell

This is my second time visiting, once in 2024 and now in 2025, so I feel like I can give a well-rounded review.

First, let me preface this by saying I grew up in Houston, Texas, so my palate for Mexican food is pretty refined. If you're expecting authentic Mexican flavors straight from Mexico, this may not be the spot for you.

Now, onto the food:

Quesabirria Tacos – Just okay. The meat has good flavor, but the tacos aren’t crispy on the outside. If you’re a big quesabirria fan, you might want to skip these.

Steak Tacos – Incredible. Perfectly seasoned with a bit of spice, plus they come with plenty of avocado, which we loved.

Chicken Nachos – Absolutely delicious. The seasoning and ratio of toppings blend together perfectly. This might just be the best thing on the menu.

Chips – So good.

Queso – Excellent. If you come here, you must order the queso.

Taquitos – Apparently, not great. My friend said Taco Time has better taquitos.

Cocktails – Well-made with a great selection of mezcal. If you’re into mezcal, you’ll enjoy drinking here.

The atmosphere is a strong point—great music, stylish decor, and friendly staff. However, service is slow. If you're in a rush, this isn't the place for you. It didn’t bother us, but if you're expecting quick service, you might be disappointed.

Overall, is this one of the best Mexican restaurants in the PNW? No. But is it a solid spot if you live in or near Bothell, WA? Absolutely.

We had a wonderful experience today during happy hour! Our waitress, Siphiwe, was incredible. From the moment we sat down, during and after the meal, she was very attentive and personable. One of those experiences where someone went above and beyond and always had a smile on her face. I have enjoyed coming to La Gloria many times but today took my wife and daughter for the first time. We enjoyed delicious food from their tostadas to taquitos and quesadillas + chips and salsa to their amazingly delicious drinks like the mojito's (so refreshing!) and the Avo-Queen drink, my absolute favorite. If you're looking for an amazing dining experience with authentic Mexican cuisine and something different from what you would normally expect at a Mexican restaurant, I highly recommend coming to La Gloria Modern Mexican Bar in Bothell! What a great surprise. I went to meet a friend for a margarita and discovered this place. You wouldn't expect quality of this stature in a Canyon Park business park.

The first time I visited, I raved about the cocktails for weeks. The Hello Frida is one of the best margaritas I've had. There are enough margaritas choices to please anyone - all ingredients made from scratch.

I returned later to find the food is just as good. We asked for chips and salsa (which is not printed on the menu) and the server came to the table with freshly made tortilla chips and an awesome salsa. Another instance of the best I've had. The tinga enchiladas in a poblano cream sauce were superb. My friend loved the ribeye tacos.
