Wanted to buy local so I could try on some new tennis shoes. Guidance when buying the shoes was good. Found a pair I liked. Used them a month and one of the laces weirdly got shredded up. Went back in and told them my problem. First person said “I’m not sure what I can do about it.” I was a bit stunned and asked what a manager could do. Left the shoes there for them to evaluate. Called the next day and said they had a new pair of laces. Ok, great. Works for me. I show up and they have a pair of neon green laces they likely had sitting around. I tell them this would look terrible on the new black/red shoe, but they said they said was nothing more they could do. Pretty frustrating experience to say the least. They didn’t even lace them for me either. I’d expect at least a matching pair or some money off my purchase. I just ended up getting new laces myself. What the point of buying locally with service like this? I’ll just get them online next time. Supposedly they “added a note in the system” for a discount in the future, but I likely won’t go back. Is it that hard to source a black pair of laces or give me a few dollars off my purchase? Hopefully the shoes aren’t defective and keep shredding my laces cause I assume they won’t take any action...
Read moreBeen coming to this particular GSM for over 3 years for restringing and gear. Great selection of rackets and shoes, always seemed to have the specific racket size I was looking for. Service and restringing has always been friendly and knowledgable, no matter who. I wish I knew more of the employees names, but specifically David Henderson who I've come to know through the store and his lessons, has always been helpful and integral in understanding the nuances of tennis gear. The demo program is great because you know you're getting a quality racket strung properly, and the money you spend goes towards a new racket (TW not always consistent). I think the only thing that would improve GSM is if it was situated on its own tennis courts, so I could spend more time there. Thank you for the work ya'll do for the local tennis community, and for helping bring folks like myself who were once new to the sport,...
Read moreThe owner of RMRS is very knowledgeable about rackets and stringing but that's where it ends. When I asked him questions about stringing, his responses included, "Do you even know the differences between one and two piece stringing?" "I'm not here to teach you how to string rackets!" I explained that he wasn't teaching me how to string rackets. I'm not a pro by any means. I've strung probably 20 - 30 string jobs but all have been two piece string jobs. My reason for calling RMRS was to clarify the numbers and knots for a Babolat Pure Control 98. I did get some valuable advice but I also got treated like a piece of dirt over the phone and this wasn't the first time. I will NEVER buy anything from RMRS again and I wish other people that have experienced this man's never ending bad attitude would also provide accurate reviews on him as well. That's the only way to reel in...
