Restor Medical is not just a day spa! They are HEROES! A group of industry leaders! I am not from Colorado, but I landed there to attend my sister’s wedding on a Thursday morning, approximately two weeks after getting injections of Juvéderm in both cheeks from a local Med Spa in Oregon.

I was not new to injections of filler, so I had no reason to believe that I would have any kind of reaction (allergy, infection, etc.), but on the 10th day my left cheek and eye began to swell. Each subsequent day, the swelling significantly increased, my skin was hot to the touch, I had some new pain at the injection sites, and some mild paralysis set in due to the amount of swelling. I became unrecognizable.

When I called Restor Medical around 5:45 PM on a Thursday night, they immediately recognized the seriousness of what was happening and instructed me to come in the very next day. Within minutes we were discussing a trip to the emergency room for IV antibiotics and steroids.

Thanks to Dr. Waples (formerly a 15+ year veteran as an ER doctor herself, and the owner of Restor Medical), alongside Mallory, who works with Dr. Waples, they helped provide instructions to the ER on the exact form of treatment, etc. They both stayed in contact with me via phone and text the entire time. And when the hospital (after giving me IV antibiotics) refused to dissolve the filler, Dr. Waples and Mallory arranged for me to meet them in their office at almost 10:00 PM on a Friday night (after I left the hospital) to dissolve it.

This team is unbelievably knowledgeable and caring! As a business owner myself, I recognize the effort that it takes to engage at this level unexpectedly and for a client that was not originally theirs. From the very first conversation, I knew that I was in capable hands.

Saturday morning was the first sign of being out of the woods. I woke up with significantly less swelling and knew that things were beginning to feel normal again; made it to my sister’s wedding looking mostly normal, and feeling pretty. I will forever be grateful to Restor Medical for everything that they did for me. It’s never fun to have an adverse reaction or infection, but when it’s on your face, it’s an overwhelming scare and a lot of anxiety around presumptive possible outcomes.

Restor is by far the best MediSpa I have tried in Boulder. My experience over the last few months has been top notch. They started with a comprehensive consultation. After that, I got a “game plan” based on my goals. At first, I wasn’t sure about the monthly membership, but I did ultimately decide it was worth it. All the payments bank for future treatments which are discounted with that membership.

Two things stand out. 1) All people doing the procedures are well-trained licensed health professionals (RN, NP, or PA) and 2) they have a keen eye for facial aesthetics. So, I always feel safe and know I will look good - noticeable results without being overdone. I look refreshed but not plastic-y.

I have gone to the Boulder Restor location three times now and have had excellent experiences. I just saw Rn Makayla for a treatment and she was fantastic. She guided me in the best treatment for my concerns of red and discoloration and took the safety precautions needed, knowing areas of my face that may not be benefit from the procedure and instead treated them with a different procedure. I fully trust her knowledge and expertise and highly recommend. Shout out to Mallory as well! I had the pleasure of having a treatment done by her in December and really enjoyed her, she did a fantastic job of taking care of me and expertise in what she does.
