Peppercorn has always been a store I was more likely to walk past rather than go inside. Lately, though, probably because I am no longer a student and am pretending to be an adult and adults seem to do things like go in quirky shops, I've been finding myself frequenting Peppercorn more often. Honestly, I've never even looked around the store because I only ever go there for one thing.
Peppercorn has a surprisingly excellent selection of hot sauces. I know, right? Like, why would you ever expect a cooler Crate & Barrel to have good hot sauces, but I'm telling you they really do. Yes they have the typical gag gift hot sauces but there are also some very good, very flavorful, and very hot ones there are well.
Which brings me to my next point; I went into Peppercorn about two weeks ago and was picking out hot sauces when a friendly employee overheard my conversation and recommended what he said was "the hottest hot sauce they sell", Limo Hot by Chiporro Hot Sauces (from Longmont, apparently). Admittedly, I sort of scoffed at the employee but bought it anyway.
My dudes. Holy cats. Now like, I'm no Sean Evans; I'm not Last Dabbing(c) and eating ghost peppers, but I enjoy a bit of spice and I like hot sauces. This hot sauce, though. Look, if you want something stupid hot, look no further. Just make sure you've got plenty of milk, ice cream, and toilet paper at home.
But this isn't a hot sauce review, it's a Peppercorn review. Cool store, fantastic hot sauces, and incredibly friendly and helpful employees....
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting Peppercorn in Boulder, and it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The store's ambiance is charming and inviting, making browsing through their extensive selection of kitchenware and gourmet goods an absolute delight.
What truly sets Peppercorn apart is the impeccable quality of their products. Whether it's the finely crafted cookware, unique kitchen gadgets, or artisanal ingredients, each item reflects a commitment to excellence. The staff's knowledge and enthusiasm only enhance the experience, as they eagerly offer guidance and recommendations.
I also appreciate Peppercorn's dedication to supporting local artisans and producers. It's clear that they take pride in showcasing the best of Boulder and Colorado, adding a special touch to every purchase.
Overall, my experience at Peppercorn was nothing short of exceptional. It's more than just a store; it's a destination for culinary inspiration and discovery. I can't wait to return and explore even more of what they have to offer. Highly recommend to anyone looking to elevate their kitchen and dining...
Read moreThis is typically one of my favorite stores to go to, but the customer service was terrible. Not one person greeted my family and I, nor asked if they could help. I stood at the cash register waiting to pay for several items for quite some time without a single word said to me. There were two cashiers standing around trying to find wrapping for a guest. It took a lot of back and forth from the 2 cashiers to figure out how and where and who to contact to get wrapping for this customer. Finally, the paying customer told me to go ahead and told the cashiers to help me first. When I finally left, I said thank you, only to receive a lukewarm, "YUP." During COVID, when so many people are unemployed, one would think businesses would be more grateful for paying customers, especially dropping money on items at a store that is so expensive. I know I'm certainly grateful to see guests spending money at my place of business. I certainly will not be spending any more of my hard earned money at this store where the employers think they're doing the customers a favor just by being present. Super rude employers & left a bad taste...
