Turned off! I love the manager Peter here! I’ve observed and watched him over the years to be a good manager and kind to customers. Which makes me wanna reciprocate by participating in fundraisers and all the other things that they have going on. I live 40 min away. Mostly, I go after work, which is how I became familiar with the store. Anyway, a month ago there was a sale on pretty litter making it less money than my fresh step crystals which I use all the time but are about $27. The fresh crystals were on sale at target so I bought the bag of pretty litter to the cashier and said “I’m a member This is on sale at target cheaper. I’m here. I usually get my fresh crystals. What can we do? I was under the assumption that I would be getting the price listed from the back advertising the pretty litter.. ?.. I asked too because it was confusing. The young woman rang me up, told me I was right agreed with me to my face. I leave go home and realize everything. She said she never did. I called the store. She actually answered the phone. I explained to her what had transpired between her and I. She comes back with a “no promotion the price remains where it is!” I said to her, I need to speak to your manager because you blatantly lied to me and misled me and that’s not acceptable! Peter was wonderful and understanding. Told me to come back to the store. He would take care of it and then told me that the store does price comparisons with other stores so he doesn’t even know why any of this was an issue.. So , I go back today and explain to the cashier she said Peter was on vacation. She said she would contact her manager. me. Two woman come up to me. One woman is listening to me making bizarre facial reactions. I stopped and said “I’m OK forget about it.” This woman responds by saying “oh I’m not the manager? This lady standing next to me is. “ “WHAT! “ So , now I’m annoyed. Nonassertive manager allowed a worker /stranger???? I don’t know who this woman was to get involved and allow me to think she was the manager ,Humiliating ! embarrassing myself not wasting my time. Only for Jenny or Ginny To say yeah, no . I am the manager. OK ! SO I KNOW PETER’S NAME YOU KNOW ABOUT THE PRICE COMPARISON THING YOU KNOW THAT I AM A LOYAL EVERY COUPLE OF DAY CUSTOMER IN HERE EVERY TIME YOU ASK ME TO DONATE I DO ! IN FACT I DID TODAY AS WELL! I only donated for the animals not because of the staff! Do you want me to come back. I can get everything there online at Target or another store. Read moreEDIT 8/24: This was previously a 1 star review. After visiting recently, I was overjoyed at what I saw!! The tanks were pristine. All fish were calm, happy, and well fed. I didn’t see a single dead fish, which, having worked in a corporate pet store, I know is the result of careful attention. I asked an employee to communicate how stoked I was about the fish team’s work, and I hope it went through! I am so grateful to see this improvement, and I wanted it you guys to know how glad I am to have this Petsmart down the road. Any place that responds this well to constructive criticism should be lauded!!
I want to begin this review by stating I am a Treats member- I got all of my gear for my dogs at Petsmart, and usually enjoy popping in to see their fish selection. I genuinely hope this is a freak occurrence at this location, but what I saw when looking at the fish today genuinely sickened me.
A panda corydora corpse that was almost completely covered by snails. Three veiled angelfish rotting in their tank. I couldn't even tell what one fish was due to the level of decomposition it was at. Cloudy, rotting shrimp. Another tank of albino cories wall-riding frantically. Random goldfish everywhere. Guppy fry in a male guppy tank (that one is much harder to prevent, so it's understandable). Some tanks were filthy, and none of them were illuminated.
I wouldn't have said anything if I had noticed one or two fish had passed away- that's expected. And, as this Petsmart only had two employees I could see, perhaps this issue could be better addressed by more staffing? Someone told me the dead fish should have been removed that morning, but some had clearly been there longer than that.
I am now hesitant to follow through on my dog's grooming appointment if this is the standard of care Petsmart has for its animals. Hopefully, again, this was an isolated incident, but I will not be purchasing fish from this Petsmart nor will I go out of my way to visit this...
Read moreWent to PetSmart to take pictures with Santa Claus my 2 nieces and brother. It Was unexpectedly busier than usual. We both have dogs my nieces are 3 and 9. There were many of dogs in the store my dog was getting anxiety as she likes to protect my nieces. Because other dogs big small etc are surrounding them my dog is alert. My dog was growling at other dogs and then I seen a friend at the store we began talking as we were talking all 3 dogs were barking trying to play. The lady working the cashier ( short, heavy set , short hair, gages , covid mask on ) came over and tells me I need to leave now that my dog isn’t trained and her collars too loose. Which is false and even if true petsmart sells collars, and harnesses she didnt give one recommended on a better one or even recommended the dog training petsmart offers. I offered for her to help she declined. Just wanted me to leave. I’ve had the dog 7 years zero incidents. Been buying her food since she was a puppy at petsmart. Been bringing her with me everytime. I will be buying my dog food at petco from here on out. Lady was miserable, rude and stereotyping me the entire time in the store. I’ve been to Petsmart over a hundred times never experienced anything like this. Mind you I just got a nail trim for my dog with several dogs in the area too how untrained is she actually if that was fine and those workers controlled her fine in and put.
