Went with my partner yesterday—I had been wanting to go for awhile after seeing all the hype online. There was hardly anyone there and the wait was extremely short which was great. I loved the creature drawings at the entrance and the story behind the haunted house was cool. However, the actual haunted house really disappointed me. There were honestly not many scares or actors. I hated the air blasts and loud bullhorn and or whatever it was that they absolutely blared numerous times to try to scare you—that is not scary, just annoying and it hurts your ears!!! I just kept thinking I should have worn earplugs.
BUT, I loved all the different themes and scenes in the attraction. There were so many details, I just wanted to be able to explore the whole thing for an hour or more. I LOVED several parts in particular but won’t spoil them :) There were some things we have never seen in a haunted house before and we loved them!
BUT—the worst part was how an employee came up to us shortly after we started walking through and awkwardly held her hand up to have us stop. I didn’t realize what was happening at first. Apparently the group in front of us was going very slow and we were catching up to them too fast. So that employee literally had to keep coming out and telling us to stop numerous times so we could wait for the group ahead to go through. This ruined the entire atmosphere for both of us and we’ve never had this happen before. It was so awkward and killed the immersion. So they need to work on the timing of letting people go through or figure something out.
Like another reviewer said, it is difficult to figure out which way you are supposed to go when you are inside the haunted house. We kept running into dead ends or going into places we weren’t supposed to. This kind of made it more fun though.. They do need better ways to sort of guide you towards the right path. We did like how the actors were very interactive and blocked your way a lot.
All in all I thought it would be way longer, we are only in there for MAYBE 15 minutes? The ticket price is definitely way too steep. Also, we were told multiple times not to touch the actors but they did touch us quite a few times. One of them even like jumped into me and stepped on my toe.
The refreshments and photo booth at the end were a nice touch! The photo quality sucked though and you couldn’t even see the pictures they were so blurry/smudged. I just don’t understand all the praise and hype this place gets! I don’t even love haunted houses that much but it wasn’t scary at all really. I expected...
Read moreTLTR at end.. let me begin by saying.. GREAT HAUNT! I highly recommend for even the most seasoned haunt goers who like to go for the fun of being scared and are left wanting by lesser haunts or better yet love watching their friends be terrified and loose their sheets.. THIS IS THE HAUNT FOR YOU... I would definitely splurge on the immediate entry or fast pass because unfortunately this is what brings me to my 4 stars out of five. The line albeit very warm and dry is also very well lit which makes the monsters in line (though still unnervingly haunting) a little hard to believe and is also somewhat harsh for anyone who enjoys the darkness of it all.. HOWEVER I will say even in the super bright light of indoor strip mall lighting (bright as the light of day) the makeup is still print/stage worthy. One would go as far as to say professional quality. Once you get inside the haunt and away from the way too bright lights anyone can sometimes see (tehehe darkness..) there is clearly a lot of effort being put into this haunt and it absolutely shows. There's no lack of detail or planning in this haunt. The "story line" matched up with their advertising (Valentine's day) and was comprehendable, easy and enjoyable to follow. (For normal people... Was terrifying, nerve wracking and soul crushing to endure).. I was never confused.. why I was in a "zombie room" in a "vampire haunt" like I sometimes am at different haunted houses.. everything made sense here. There's a good flow to it but at the same time it was also intriquitely disorienting and maze liken (also a good thing).. It's been a while since characters in a haunt have been able to catch me off guard more than once or twice let alone definitively startle and surprise me quite consistently throughout the entire haunt. They even managed to get me to scare myself! The outside staff were helpful and fun and they even had deals on tickets for groups. TLTR: This is one of the best haunts in the Toledo area in my opinion and this was an OFF SEASON HAUNT! Will be returning for Halloween....
Read moreWe just visited Distracted Haunted House tonight on a Saturday. I was worried about going on a weekend night but it wasn't crowded and we were through the line in no time. It's indoors for the waiting line which is SO NICE when it gets chilly. The cost was only $25 and it was so worth it! My kids and I have been to a lot of haunted houses and I felt like this was my all time favorite, enough to make a review. It was a long haunted house as far as haunted houses go and every turn was different. I won't give anything away but compared to other haunted houses this took the cake. I never felt rushed and was never close to another group. The pace was great and the there was a variety of scares within it. My kids are young but very brave for haunted houses and a couple rooms had them spooked. I don't think I would bring a haunted house newbie to this one unless it's another adult you're trying to pick on. 😂🫣 overall great haunted house for a great value. At the end they even have a space to roast marshmallows and drink hot cocoa that...
