Address for apartment is 545D Northern Lights BLVD Apt 401
June 11 2025 FINAL REVIEW OF 10BEDROCK Box Elder SD
The management at the property offered us to move out early and we accepted the offer. It was clearly easier to get rid of the residents who paid on time and maintained the unit above standards than to address the real issues going on.
If you are thinking of moving here and you are drawn in by the inside units being spacious and looking beautiful beware once you move in you will clearly see the damage of the complex being built too quickly. We have had 2 leaks in the ceiling. One being in the coat closet and the other in the living room. They were addressed and fixed however we had water damage to our personal property in both cases and the apartment could care less about the personal / property damage. I have videos and pictures of both! The outside hallways of your unit are unkept and smells. The no smoking policy is a joke! It smells on every level of skunk. You get my point on what is being smoked. I personally could care less what anyone does in their life however in a community setting this should be addressed. The community grounds are unkept and always flooded during rain. The unkept grounds causes issues for small fur babies when there is always dog poop everywhere. This is a problem that has never truly been addressed just sporadic text messages from management stating they are working on it. They never do it was a daily issue. The apartment first floor by the mailboxes and entry doors are always flooded when it rains. The garages are also flooded during rain,
I'm in good faith leaving a review as you should love where you live with how high rent is! You should never feel like you are being laughed at because you have real issues that should be addressed by a company claiming to care about their tenants!
We were so excited to move here! We signed a lease the end of October for 1/1/2024 move in! I communicated with Quinn via text and made it very clear I wanted a clean move-in apartment! We did our walk through with Melissa on 1/1/2024 and we were completely disgusted that the apartment was construction dirty and none of the damaged items we pointed out two months in advance were addressed! The entire floor was covered in what the maintenance calls "shine"! I still can't get the "streaky shine" off the what was a beautiful floor! When maintenance came the day after move in to look at the obvious previously noted damage I was told "this is not a custom home" WHAT??!! I never said it was a custom home! It's a brand new apartment! I would assume the owner would want to make sure that all damage is fixed from the get go and keep the property properly maintained! I contacted Melissa who stated she would need to hire a cleaner but it would take sometime because they have to make sure they don't have a criminal background. I wanted to unpack and get settled and organized not wait a week for a cleaner! Melissa also stated that If I was that unhappy they would gladly help us get out of our lease! Unprofessional to advise a tenant who just moved in and is unhappy about the situation to have to move to fix the problem! I asked for corporate and Bri started handling the mess! Once again she offered a cleaner in a 4 day timeframe and we wanted to get settled so I cleaned the apartment! We are still working on pics of the apartment of all the damages to hopefully get fixed! On Friday 1/12/2024 the apartment was 61 degrees all night! We contacted Melissa and she promptly sent a HVAC tech and after 3 visits the temperature was 63 degrees and falling so my husband went to Menards and bought 3 space heaters to finally get a comfortable temperature! However despite this incredibly horrible situation so far, the apartment is spacious with beautiful colors and had our floor not been " shined", the apartment was exactly what we were looking for! Hopefully Collective can step up and resolve the furnace issues, reimburse us for the cleaning supplies and space heaters, and resolve all our...
Read moreWhen I first moved into this apartment complex, I was excited. The amenities looked new and promising. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly faded once I began noticing several issues with the unit: every window screen had holes, the flooring was lifting, the cabinets were scratched, and the elevator constantly broke downâsometimes taking days to be repaired. The most concerning part of my experience was the utility billing. I was apparently being charged two months behind without any clear explanation or notice. When I moved out, the entire security deposit was withheld to cover these âoutstanding charges.â This was incredibly confusing, especially because If I was truly behind on payments, why were my utilities never interrupted? I also moved out a full month early to give myself time to clean and transition, with all utilities shut offâyet I was charged more for that month than for months when I actually lived there. After they kept my full deposit, I was still told I owed an additional $63. When I asked for clarification, I was told only $20 of that was for a cleaning fee. The rest was vague âutilityâ and âserviceâ charges, none of which could be properly explained despite multiple attempts to get answers. To make matters worse, at my new apartmentâwhere I now use more utilities and even have a dogâmy monthly utility bill is significantly lower. That alone raises serious concerns about how the utility charges were calculated at my previous complex. The lack of transparency, poor communication, and questionable billing practices were incredibly frustrating. I would not recommend this property unless youâre prepared to document everything, ask a lot of questions, and fight for a clear breakdown of charges....
Read moreYes, brand new beautiful apartments! When looking for apartments, I almost couldnât believe what I was getting for the price in todayâs economy at 10BedRock. After living here for a bit, I very much understand why.
Beware, this is very âmass builder gradeâ construction if you will. It seems like they were just trying to get the job done as fast as possible. For starters, when I walked into the apartment for the first time, I could see some of the subfloor near the wall - there was also no baseboards in my brand new âmove in readyâ apartment. The floors also seem to have this soap like coating on them that I canât get off and the floor always feels dirty. Next, there are MANY spots in my one bedroom apartment with extra plaster stuff on the walls. My freezer handle also broke off the first time I went to open it. Lots of scratches on the doors and kitchen cabinets as well. The walls are also very thin, so donât expect that your neighbors canât hear you. Lastly, if you like hot showers, donât even expect a warm shower𤣠hot water doesnât really exist here.
Utilities - billed through 3rd party that has surcharges every month. This is new to me as I have live in apartments that use a third party site but doesnât have service fees each month.
Although I havenât had any troubles since living here, Iâm quite nervous about what move out could look like. I have personally over documented due to the crazy move out rules and duties/costs placed on the tenant.
I personally havenât had a super bad experience as I had the extreme pleasure to work with Melissa before she had moved due to relocation. But, I have heard a lot of not so great things on the management and the turnover rate of property...
