Wood Stock Supply — Local services in Box Elder

My kids broke a shelf that needed a specialized clip that was hard to find locally. The clip itself was a couple bucks online most places I found it, but they were charging 15 dollars for shipping. Wood Stock Supply had reasonable prices and wasnt trying to trick me with outrageous shipping costs to negate the smaller item cost. So I bought a couple extra.

I dont normally write google reviews, but they sent me a fun sized starburst candy with my clips. It shouldn't be a big deal, but it says something about what their customer service is probably like. (Then I come on google reviews, and find them interacting with their customers reviews.) Customer service trumps pricing, and this place has both.

I dont know if I will need something else from them soon, but they will be the first place I check for the harder...

Not a good experience this time. I have used this place 8-10 times. Never again. I drive 2 hrs one way to buy wood from them. They have never been particularly friendly or helpful but I have always put up with it, you know 'support local businesses'. Well I have never had a problem having them cut anything I need. Now they won't cut unless its an exotic. I needed 4 ft of birds eye maple and 3 ft of mahogany (exotic) nope they wouldn't cut it. These were out of 16' pieces, leaving them plenty to sell. I was pissed. I was going to buy a couple of $100 in wood. I guess I will get it somewhere else. Lost me as a customer, and I will be sure to tell as many people as I can about...

Purchased a few small items on-line from a few states away to create a couple of tipping storage areas in my kitchen; nothing too big. Web site was easy to use and order from and had a better selection than my local big box store. Lots of other great ideas for storage and woodworking ideas. Impressed with the care placed into the shipping, and the lower prices than my local big-box stores (which had less options), even after the added cost to have shipped. As soon as I get a dozen other house projects done, I know where to come for some unique ideas for future projects. ...
