I have to say I hate everything about this company. I also don't trust them. We've been with them for almost 4 years and joined based on a suggestion from some friends.
If I hate them, why am I with them? It's just easier than making a change to everything and they know that. I did it once to go full time and I'll do it again when I get property. Though, I minimize my interaction with this company as much as possible at this point.
Their runner service for plates, registration etc isn't worth the hassle. We do it on our own at this point. They can't ever get it right or done on time.
The mailroom puts stickers on mail including right smack dab in the middle of rebate checks that aren't in an envelope making them unredeemable. Hiring someone with some common sense shouldn't be that hard, unless you're paying for the bottom of the barrel and are cutting costs for your own pockets.
In the last 4 years it has never failed that once a shipment is made a random piece of mail magically arrives the same day. Every single time without fail. It's almost as if they're trying to guarantee another shipment (see their absurd shipping rates below). We don't have that much delivered for this to be coincidental at this point.
They are not transparent with shipping costs. I've used services that are capable of giving you the cost upfront. Just select a service and hope you aren't paying through the nose. But, you will. The cost is almost $50 for basic ground service. That's for just a couple letters to be shipped. Think about the shipping cost, add that up with the fact new mail shows up after every shipment, something is shady. If 5 letters cost $50, you need better deals with your shipping partners.
I'm starting to track what it would cost from point A to B had I not had to deal with this shady company in the middle.
They are too lazy to lookup your PMB if a person or business inadvertently forget to put the PMB on the envelop. Rejected, returned and causes havoc in some scenarios. See my next statement - people make mistakes, but this company is intolerant about it but want your sympathy when they make mistakes.
They send out notifications saying "so sorry if this happened, but software makes mistakes." No, software doesn't make mistakes, it does exactly what it was told to do. Developers make mistakes. Get better software or better developers.
They force you to have a balance on file. For what!?. Why should my hard earned money sit in your coffers earning interest than my own. There is absolutely no reason you need a balance on the account. Charge us when we need a delivery.
They nickel and dime you beyond their overpriced based rates:
Oversized packages are as simple as anything larger than a standard letter. It's really hard to get that in the box, or to store it somewhere else apparently. Must get more money.
The CC convenience fee is ridiculous given they are sitting there earning interest on everyone's funds by forcing a minimum balance.
They just "suspend" your account at a low balance and can't figure out how to reactivate it when you top up your account.
They have lost mail several times on us.
At the end of the day, they are not worth the price and all the hidden fees that come with it. Honestly, I think they care more about filling their pockets than providing a good transparent service.
The latest email begging their patrons to push back on new legislation being introduced actually made me start thinking... Let it happen. I kind of want to watch this company go under, They suck.
It would be too bad for future full timers, but there are other states that can be used to live this lifestyle. There are also better services out there. ...
Read moreUpdate 2025-08-22 after using them for one year, this mail service is absolutely the worst I've had (I've had three).
Had a specific piece of mail arrive to my box that I needed overnighted to a specific address (its an IRA rollover check). My finance rep had emailed me a prepaid overnight shipping label, and I was hoping that America's Mailbox would be able to pull that specific piece of mail out of my box and put it in an envelope with this prepaid label. Not totally surprisingly, they were unable to use third-party labels. I sort of saw that coming. However, when I went to schedule and pay for the shipping through my account, I realized they would then pull everything out of my box and forward it, not just the one specific item.
The inability to select specific pieces of mail from your box to have forwarded is crazy to me. There are frequently times when something arrives that I need urgently, and I want to forward that one piece quickly, but not everything in my box because express shipping is expensive. What an absolutely bonkers system. Original Review: Had an amazing experience talking to Andrew on the phone. He answered a bunch of my questions and helped me fill out the forms. Even if he didn't know the answer to my question, he would go find an answer. Andrew is great.
HOWEVER, my sign up experience was less than ideal. I submitted my forms via email and received a reply email that the form would take 2 to 3 full business days to process. Cool, no problem. 8 calendar days (so, 5 full business days) go by, and absolutely nothing is received.
At that point, I emailed asking about the status of my registration and a few minutes later I received my welcome email. I can only speculate, but it looked to me like they forgot to send the welcome email. Without the welcome email, you have no actual address, so I needed to wait for the welcome email to be able to use this service. According to the invoice, my service was "active" the day after I sent in my registration form.
I emailed them questioning what happened and asking if I could get a postage credit (not even a refund) for the 8 days I was charged while being unable to actually use the service. My email question went unanswered for 3 days and then I emailed them again asking for a status. I quickly received a reply claiming that they had sent out the Welcome on the same day my account was activated and that perhaps it was in my spam. I do check my spam regularly and I didn't see the email come through. I was looking for it so I doubt I missed it, but anything is possible. If they had sent it originally on the day they activated my account, I don't know why they didn't forward that original email to me as proof. They refused to reimburse me for the days I paid for a service I couldn't use.
Overall this is not a good start with my experience with this mail service. I am hopeful my experience improves from here out. If it does, I'll come back and...

Honestly, I was ambivalent about using Americas Mailbox for the titling and registration of the car I bought in 2025. I use them for their mailing services and registered my RV through them 4 years ago. My RV registration 4 years ago was a mess. I assertively sought assistance from leadership multiple times and got no attention. As far as I could tell, there was zero customer service oversight and management was non-existent. In the end, due to delays and mishandling of my RV registration process by America's Mailbox staff I owed (many) hundreds of dollars in extra penalties and fees. I'm still ticked off about it. I complained to someone at their booth in Quartzite (I believe it was a manager or owner) who simply said "sorry" and then argued with me about whether the state charges interest on late registrations (they do, and interest on the excise tax on a class A RV gets very expensive very fast).
So, I bought a used car in California in January 2025. I hesitantly contacted Americas Mailbox and sent them my registration info. My account was handled by Amanda, and she was incredible. This registration ended up being a nightmare too, but NOT because of America's Mailbox. There were signature issues on the title/bill of sale that required several back and forth overnight mailings to the former owner in California. Amanda was there to help me through the process every step of the way. Then, there was one final ownership reassignment form that needed my original signature and the previous owner's. No problem, I signed and overnighted it. Previous owner signed and returned. THEN UPS LOST THE PACKAGE.
It was unclear to me how to proceed because some of the information on the signature form was from 2 owners ago and they couldn't be easily located. Well, the overnight package was unexpectedly delivered (MONTHS later). Amanda was right on it, expedited it, and today (September 2) my car was successfully registered. Thank you to Amanda and her perseverance to get this done. To Americas Mailbox - Amanda saved you and I hope you reward and recognize her accordingly. Thank you again, Amanda, for helping me through this 9 month car...
