State Theatre — Local services in Boyertown

As a Gen-Xer this movie theater reminds me of many of my youth and PA has been great about trying to keep these old theaters alive. They've kept the vintage style, but have updated the projector and sound system. So you get the same sound as the big theaters. They get alot of first run movies as well as run some classics during the holidays. Seats are comfortable for their style, but leg room can be iffy on some. Concessions are better priced than the big theaters and all the staff are very friendly. The theater is walking distance to several restaurants--ideal for date night. And there's something about stepping outside after a blockbuster movie into a quiet neighborhood--like you need to whisper talking to your friends...just everything about it is quaint, nostalgic and romantic....a...

When you see a movie here it's like SITTING ON TOP OF THE WORLD! It has a vintage feel to it that makes it a magnificent expierience. Choosing your own seating arrangements was a nice option (State Theatre members having reserved seating). Lighting is unique & groovy, sound immersive & exhilirating! Employees enthusiastic and friendly (The State even had a cosplay character dressed up as Mario with Yoshi)! Finally, looking at it from another perspective, this theatre used film reels in the days before digital which i'm probably sure had to have been most tedious and history in the making! I had to jump on here and write a review after having my daughter’s 4th birthday at the State! We had the best experience! They were accommodating to all of our ideas, and everyone was extremely helpful throughout the entire experience. It was the perfect “1st movie theater experience” for the younger kids and the older kids had just as much fun! The laid back vibe allowed kids to easily get up as they needed for snacks, drinks, or to use the bathroom.
